With his startup celebrating its ninth year in the business, Australian filmmaker Peter Hynes aims to solidify his company’s reputation as one of Australia’s top-notch production houses.
Film Time, Peter Hynes’ brainchild, was established in 2008. They are ‘a group composed of filmmakers, artists, editors, and animators, who push the boundaries of storytelling’.
Not only do they cater to mainstream media such as TV commercials and digital content, but they also do documentaries and live experiences. As of writing, Peter is scheduled to shoot a documentary in Uganda in a few weeks time.
Most of the time, when Peter is not working on a project, he reaches out to potential clients through their leads. “As a small video agency, we rely on quality leads,” he said. “Unfortunately, finding those leads means having either a sales force go out and activate opportunities
using a ‘brute force’ approach, which is both culturally inappropriate and time-consuming. So, we create leads intelligently ourselves.”
Peter had a shortlist of the companies he wanted to work with. However, his team didn’t have the manpower to go and find the point person for each business.
“There were too many people for us to source contact information from. We needed to set up calls or meetings with the right people and we needed to know exactly who to speak with.”
Peter turned to Freelancer.com for a solution. He said that his familiarity with the jobs marketplace came from word of mouth. Once registered, he posted a project in search of a data researcher. “Within five minutes of posting our ad, we had a good number of bids, one of which was a high-quality service provider,” he said.
Kulfi Softwares won the AU$250 project. The 18-man Birgunj, Nepal-based team specializes in several distinct fields such as data research and entry, web scraping, email marketing, website design and development, graphic designing, and a lot more. They have completed over 500+ projects and received high praises from their past employers.
“The project was completed in 10 days. We gathered all the data needed for a sheet of over 1,200 entries/rows. In order to fulfill the requirements of this project, we had to use different sets of skills most of which required a great deal of proficiency with Internet Research. We used several softwares to extract the data from the web,” said Anuj Agrawal, the Kulfi Software team member Peter worked with.
Peter said that working with Kulfi Software was very efficient since they communicated clearly and was very informative in terms of the project’s progress.
“We’ve saved a lot of time, effort, and money by hiring on Freelancer. And we stand to grow our business with the leads that have been generated from the project,” said Peter.
