Changing Perspectives: A 21st Century Approach to Education and Schooling

Most schools around the world have adopted the conventional system where students are expected to hit the books to pass quizzes, tests, and exams. Natasha Hussein, from London, United Kingdom, believes that it “inadequately prepares students to thrive in the world outside of University”.

“The school syllabus doesn’t convey the true joy of a subject and it is easy to get caught up in the mindset of ‘exam passing’ as opposed to the fun of free thought, exploration, and creativity,” said Natasha.

Motivated by her belief, she thought of Future School, an academy where students’ interests, personalities, and everyday lifestyles are shaped and prepared for the fast-changing economy.

To get the wheels rolling, she hired Ukrainian graphic designer Oleg via Freelancer.com to render the classroom and cafeteria sketches she made. Oleg specializes in 3D modeling and boasts a five-star user rating plus perfect marks in job completion, budget friendliness, and punctuality.

“I chose Oleg for three reasons: he was polite and I could sense his warmth over the messages, he was very professional, and the price he offered was very affordable. He was understanding, empathetic and listened carefully from the very first interaction I had with him and he didn’t

put pressure on me to work with him but was attentive to my needs. That to me signaled a good fit,” said Natasha.

For two months, Natasha and Oleg were always catching up on every detail of the £111.00 project. Despite doing all the work online, communication was never an issue between the two. She expected nothing less than perfection from the output, so they worked their way towards that goal.

She was ecstatic with the 3D model she received. In her review of Oleg, she said: “He was dedicated, consistent, and showed excellent communication throughout. Also very open to trying things out to see how they would look in the image.”

Despite having her 3D model, Future School has a long way to go but Natasha is confident she’s on the right path. “The next steps for the project is to combine the images and the text that I have on my site into a short, elegant brochure that can be used as the starting point of a conversation with others to help evolve this project,“ she said.

Future School is just one of Natasha’s projects. She is also working on modernizing and challenging the ideas of waste. Natasha’s desire is to integrate her knowledge of science, design, and business to help companies and individuals bring beautiful projects to life. You can learn more about her ideas and work through her blog, Laboratory of London.

“Freelancer can also help with turning any of the visuals I have in mind to something meaningful to those I connect with and in making new products and projects for others.”

Changing the world has never been easier for visionaries such as Natasha. With Freelancer.com as their catalyst, possibilities are endless. Got a world-changing idea? Hire a freelancer and make it happen.
