Third improvement
This follows entry #57. This version attempts to bring the best features of my two previous versions together. A disadvantage of #57 compared to #31 was that the Z-axis was shown as a separate control. This entry preserves separate indicator for clarity, but also uses the scale of the planes to represent force in the Z direction. This hopefully restores intuition by giving a clear sense of ‘push’ and ‘pull’, with a ‘push’ force shrinking the plane as if it were being pushed away. Since the green target plane is intended as a guide and not an exact measurement, it was simplified to an outline (solving the problem of smaller planes being completely hidden behind larger ones, without resorting to complicated x-ray outlines). The display also features a simple idea for indicating whether the total force or total torque is close to a critical limit, shown by the red bar indicators behind the numerical displays. These bars could show total force or torque relative to zero or to the target.
