Design 3 Unique Beer Can Labels for Horn Brewery (an Icelandic Craft Brewery)

Project Description:
We are a craft brewery based in Höfn, Iceland, located near Vatnajökull glacier. We are launching three new beers and are looking for talented designers to create three distinct, high-quality beer label designs.
Our new beers are the first in a new line of beers from our brewery.
Our past label designs have been playful and colorful. We want to go in a different direction with this new line of beers.
For our new line of beers, we want designs that feel premium, artistic, and original. With a strong connection to Icelandic nature, storytelling, and character. We want them minimalistic and sophisticated

About the Brewery:
Horn Brewery (Horn Brugghús) is known for creative beers, strong visual identity, and playful storytelling. We are now expanding our range and want labels that stand out both locally and internationally.
We are located in the south east of Iceland – the home of Europe’s largest glacier.
Our brewery is in Höfn, a small fishing village, so a connection to the see and fishing is strong

The Beers:
1. 5% Pilsner
o Clean, crisp, refreshing. Designed to appeal to as broad a range of the general public as possible
o Style direction: Nordic purity, minimalism, glacier / mountain inspiration



2. 4,2% Lite lager
o Clean, crisp, refreshing, basic. Relatively neutral palate with a crisp, dry finish. Designed to appeal to as broad a range of the general public as possible
o Style direction: Nordic purity, minimalism, ocean landscape / small boat fishing inspiration
3. 5% Classic – Vienna lager
o The beer is amber/copper colored. Medium light to medium body, with a gentle creaminess. Moderate carbonation. Smooth.
o Style direction: Nordic purity, minimalism. Icelandic nature. ________________________________________
Design Requirements:
• Label size: 205 mm (width) x 85 mm (height)
• Format: suitable for beer cans (330 ml)
• Must include space for:
o Beer name (to be added later or suggested)
o Brewery name: Horn Brewery / Horn Brugghús
o ABV %
o Volume (330 ml)
o Ingredients text
o Barcode area
• Deliverables:
o Editable files (AI, EPS, or PSD)
o Print-ready PDF
o Fonts and assets used

Style & Direction:
We are looking for:
• Strong, original concepts (not templates or stock designs)
• Clean composition that works on a can
• Scandinavian / Icelandic aesthetic
• Possibility to build a cohesive series, but each beer should still feel unique
Avoid:
• Generic beer label templates
• Overly cluttered designs
• Low-effort stock graphics

    I am a designer and illustrator, so all visuals in this project are fully hand-drawn by me — no AI, no stock assets. I studied real landscapes from your region to capture the atmosphere of Höfn, its glaciers, volcanoes, and northern lights as authentically as possible.

    This gives you a unique visual language that cannot be replicated, along with high-resolution artwork suitable for cans, web, and large-scale print.

    I created a cohesive system where each label has its own character while still forming a unified brand.
