Hello everyone, my name is Derek and I'm a student at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I'm currently two terms deep in the Business Information Technology program and I'm looking for ways to expand my knowledge and network. I have plenty of experience with YouTube as I used to have a channel with over 50 videos. This time though, I want to create a coding channel, one where people can come to learn about coding.
Here's the catch, so many people teaching code do it in a way that visual people ( like me ) have a hard time understanding. My idea is to make a channel called CodeVision, my videos will consist of half the screen being code, and the other half showing a visual representation of what the code is doing. I believe this will allow people to understand the fundamentals much better, and will get them to think in a way that will help them understand code when they go to write it on their own.
I'm looking for someone awesome to collaborate with to create a logo and YouTube channel banner!
Let's set sort of a framework for this project. I think the logo should take on a "</>" look, this is a classic coding logo consisting of two brackets and a dash. Since we're depicting a visual aspect in the name, I think it would be cool to incorporate an eye or something like that in the dash portion of the logo. I'd like to have two copies of the logo, one with the name "CodeVision" underneath the logo and one without any writing at all. I'm thinking of a skyblue and grey color scheme for the logo. But if you find a different color scheme that looks cool, feel free to use your judgment.
For the banner, I'm looking for something simplistic yet elegant. I've linked a picture of someone's banner that really interested me, notice the social media icons. I will need a Youtube icon, as well as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Of course it doesn't need to be the same as this banner, but something to spark your creativity. I also think it would look super cool to have half transparent code running through the black background of the banner.
