Contest Brief

I would like you to create a combination of the Star Wars Imperial March with the Ottoman Attack March. The Ottoman military band would play this tune during a battle and there is a section for charges where it speeds up. I have always thought there are similarities with the Ottoman army and the Galactic Empire, so I think this can be an interesting project. Given the limited budget, you can just do editing or create the notes and play it on a synthesizer. You pick either instrument set, the full western orchestra of Star Wars or the hand carried instruments of the military band. If you have another way of organizing the two marches, I'm fine with that. If we can create a good result, I might find more funding to get this recorded with a real band or small orchestra.

I'm providing you with links to the two marches. A third link to a fun, simple edit that might inspire you. I'm also providing you with the notes to both marches. Since I'm music illiterate I'm not sure if the notes are correct. That you can verify yourself.

Update:

Here's a picture to motivate you.

Update:

Early results show that editing the two fils together won't likely create a winning result. Since the instruments are far off, you are likely to win if you can take the notes of the two songs and combine them together with another instrument (piano for example). Later beats can be added, but the main melody has to be generated using one instrument.

Employer Feedback

“Franco did an amazing job by taking two musical pieces from different musical origins and bringing them together. He wrote the orchestral piece and created the new song. Great freelancer and artist.”

Thank you very much for all of your valuable contributions. I loved them all. Very original and unique. Unfortunately I have a limited budget, since this is not professional work. Hopefully I can find some more funds for this and we can work more.

Lesyan, do you think you can arrange the notes of the two marches in meaningful order and play it? Even a single piano version is a big step for us.

Apparently marches were important to all empires and they share some common characteristics.
