Wedding Love Story Driveway Poster Template System – Design Contest Brief Project Overview We are hosting a design contest to find a talented graphic designer or design team to create a cohesive, editable wedding timeline poster system. These posters will be displayed along the entry driveway of our wedding venue and will tell each couple’s love story as guests arrive. The winning design should function as a customizable template system that can be reused for many different couples while still feeling unique, personal, and professionally designed. Poster Requirements Design a series of seven (7) matching posters: • Poster 1: Title Poster – 'Our Love Story' • Poster 2: Couple Photo + Names • Posters 3–7: Five relationship milestones Design Style & Aesthetic (Important) We are seeking a modern, editable wedding timeline template system that can be easily customized for many couples. Designs should feel current, romantic, and thoughtfully designed without relying on excessive illustrations, clip art, AI-generated graphics, or highly specific visual elements. We welcome a variety of creative directions, including: • Soft floral and whimsical • Modern romantic • Retro-inspired and playful • Colorful and artistic • Editorial and typography-focused • Organic and nature-inspired The winning design should feel timeless enough to work across many wedding styles while still offering personality and visual interest. Encouraged Design Elements • Strong typography • Creative layouts and composition • Thoughtful color palettes • Textures and subtle graphic accents • Simple illustrations when appropriate • Clear visual hierarchy • Readability from a distance Please Avoid • Excessive icons or clip art • Overly literal illustrations for each milestone • AI-generated collage elements • Visuals that would be difficult to edit or customize for future couples • Designs that depend on highly specific story details • Overly formal, outdated wedding aesthetics Template Flexibility (Very Important) These designs will ultimately become a customizable product used for many couples. Designers should create layouts that can easily accommodate: • Different photo orientations • Varying lengths of milestone descriptions • Different wedding styles and color palettes • Different numbers of timeline milestones • Different couple names and story details We are looking for a flexible design framework rather than artwork that only works for one specific couple. January 12, 2022 Poster 4: Officially Together The day we made it official. March 5, 2022 Poster 5: Our First Adventure Our first trip together and the beginning of many more. September 2022 Poster 6: A New Home Together Moving in and building our life side-by-side. June 2023 Poster 7: The Proposal The moment forever began. November 2025 Typography Guidelines Typography should be a primary design feature. We encourage designers to explore creative typography, spacing, hierarchy, and composition rather than relying on numerous decorative graphics. Some concepts may be heavily typography-driven with only minimal decorative elements. All text must remain highly legible from a distance. Avoid script fonts and difficult-to-read typefaces. Creative Direction We welcome submissions in a variety of styles, including: • Floral & romantic • Modern editorial • Retro & playful • Colorful contemporary • Minimalist • Organic & nature-inspired We are intentionally looking for a range of creative interpretations rather than one specific visual style. Technical Requirements • Poster size: 24" × 36" (portrait orientation) • Resolution: 300 DPI • Color mode: CMYK • Include 0.25" bleed and safe margins • Large-format print ready • Clear readability from a vehicle or while walking along the driveway Contest Entry Requirements Please submit mockups of all seven posters in your proposed design style. Submission format: • High-quality JPEG or PNG previews • Include all seven poster designs • Include a short description of your design concept • Include color palette information • Include fonts used Designers should demonstrate how the template system would work across multiple milestones while maintaining visual consistency. What We Will Provide to the Winner • High-resolution couple photographs • Couple names and timeline details • Brand preferences and color direction when applicable Final Deliverables from the Winner • Print-ready PDF files for each of the 7 posters (with bleed) • Fully editable source files (.AI, .PSD, Canva, or equivalent editable format) • Linked assets and fonts where applicable • Organized layers for easy future customization Project Goal This series should feel memorable, personal, and visually cohesive while remaining highly adaptable for future couples. The ideal design balances creativity with practicality, resulting in a template system that can be customized repeatedly while still feeling unique and elevated for each event.
