Design a Logo & Banner for OutdoorAussies
- Durum: Closed

I need a logo and banner for my new e-commerce business Website and eBay store called OutdoorAussies.
Our range of merchandise includes Boys’ Toys such as Action Cameras & accessories, outdoors and solar-powered gadgets, as well as camping, 4X4 and related leisure goods and accessories – mostly with a technical/gadget slant.
We are located in and focused on Western Australia, providing fast service, free shipping, and excellent customer service – we’ll expand into the other states in time.
The logo and banner must be simple and clear, legible, memorable and recognisable.
The logo and banner will feature online (website and eBay), in print (letterhead, invoices, business cards etc.), and will form the basis for future designs (additional websites, shirt pockets, promotional material etc.)
The winner will be required to provide all final files in fully editable Vector format as well as standard pixel-based format (.Jpg, .gif, .png), regardless of file formats used along the way. The winner will also be required to pass full ownership and rights to me.
The name “Outdoor Aussies” has an Australian flavour, so in your design process, please consider Australia, Aussies, our lifestyle and passions – I want to be able to say: “Proudly owned in Australia, by Aussies.” A knowledge of Aussie lifestyle will be invaluable - i.e. if you happen to live in Australia, that’s great - and if you happen to live in WA, that's an additional bonus!
I have included some words, ideas and concepts on Australia, Aussies and the Aussie lifestyle below – feel free to use whatever you wish.
I’m open to a play on concepts, ideas and words here. While the logo and banner must convey a message that we are a serious business, a bit of humour/whimsy won’t go astray. I’m actually keen to see both angles – a thoroughly serious design, as well as one with a humorous or whimsical angle. That said – I need something new and fresh - cartoon clichés like caricatures of Crocodile Dundee won’t make the cut.
I will provide regular feedback to entrants and I will choose the winner early if you come up with the right logo and banner. You should note that I am in Australia and there’s often a large time difference, so if I don't review your logos immediately it is due to this – and also the fact that I work fulltime. I will try to get back to all your requests ASAP.
Good luck - I can’t wait to see your work!
Setting the Stage:
Australians are keen nickname generators – and Australia itself has a few of its own, such as:
Land of Oz,
The Lucky Country,
The Sunburnt Country.
Aussies are Laid Back (not lazy – ever!) – think of:
Easy-going, No worries, No dramas, Too easy, She’ll be right, Take the piss, Chuck a sickie, Too hard pile, Good on ya!, Fair dinkum, Early pass.
We are Passionate about many things – like:
Mateship, a fair go, the outdoors, BBQ, backyard, patio, boardies & thongs, sport, footie, cricket, surfing, swimming, rugby, bowls, a blokes’ shed, his tv (and the remote!), utes, cars, Ford, Holden, offroad 4x4, camping, caravanning, the bush, Sunday roast, seafood at Xmas, pavlova, music, the British royalty (some are passionate for, others are passionate against them), tattoos, etc.
Generally – thinking of Aussies and our Lifestyle evokes these thoughts:
Outdoors, thongs, BBq, footie, cricket, rugby, fishing, boating, camping, eskies, sun, sand, beach, ocean, waves, surfing, frisbee, bathers, budgie smugglers, sunscreen, sunburn, umbrella, beer, offroad 4x4, picnic, camping, caravanning, bush, trail, flies, mozzies, hats with corks, flyswatter, damper, the pub, the dunny, Sunday roast, sheep, kangaroos, emus, bluegums, wattles, the shed, road trains, Relaxed, laid back, watching tv, recliner, couch, “Chestie, stubbies, short socks & boots”, camera, movies, boys toys, fitness, and so on.
