We would like a logo for Directions Disability Support Services. We would like the name and then a symbol/icon/picture/figure to represent who we are and what we do. We would like to use the strap line "for individuals and families" which may or may not be part of the logo.
Directions Disability Support Services is a small organisation in Perth, Western Australia that is a values-based organisation committed to providing individualised, personalised support to people with disability and their families. We are commonly known as Directions, but when seeking inspiration please don't focus on the common meaning of that word, but more on the services that we provide.
Vision: People with disabilities being able to go the places they want to go, being the person they want to be.
Mission/purpose: providing personalised 1:1 supports so that people with disabilities can learn, gain independence and be genuinely connected participants in their family and community.
Values: dignity - instilling self worth, confidence and independence;
respect - clear, honest and reciprocal relationship;
rights of all to exercise choice that is free from discrimination;
compassion - thoughtfulness and consideration in all actions and decisions;
citizenship - living a good life, being included and contributing to the community;
individuality - everyone is their own person with unique needs, goals and dreams.
Competitive advantage: Directions' competitive advantage centres on its ability to match people with disability with the right support workers to be able to deliver truly individualised care. Support workers are empowered to use their initiative to deliver the best possible outcomes for their clients. Directions provides relationship-based care, matching individuals with disabilities with support workers so that the individual has consistent support from someone that they know and like.
Stakeholders were asked "if Directions Disability Support Services was a person, how would you describe him/her" and the characteristics that came out most strongly were:
Caring, loving, compassionate, determined, enthusiastic, passionate, genuine, connected, authentic, always goes the extra mile.
Colours: we would like light blue/aqua, or green, or both green and light blue.

“A really good idea, and the only one who wrote comprehensive notes on why the icon and style had been chosen. Really helpful in getting all the different files downloaded.”
