I have been tutoring for a living for the past 6 years. I have decided to start my own tutoring business. My goal is to hire tutors and provide service for all range of students, from elementary school all the way to high school and even collage students. I am looking for a very cool and unique logo WITH ALL THE COPY RIGHTS signed to me. The name that I have chosen for this business is "Aria Tutoring", but the legal name is "Aria Tutoring Academy". So as far as my logo, please feel free to use either name as an initial idea. Aria is my last name and doesn`t stand for anything in particular. So it is just a name. I am interested in a small and compact logo, nothing too wordy and lengthy. I don`t like illustration and cartoonish images. I prefer real looking logos.
I am not a big fan of colorful things. When I shop for cloths, cars, furniture, and etc I always choose black, gray, silver, and white. I am hoping that my logo, website and business card are designed like that, with not many different colors in them. But some times a mixture of one color with black, gray or white looks appealing to me, like purple and gray or red and black. So my point is that beside silver, black, gray and white, I would only like at the most one more colorful color to be mixed in my logo, if any. Also I would like my logo to be designed relating to an academic setting.

I have found some logos online and a couple of them caught my attention. I would like you to see if it is a good idea to make some adjustments to them or et ideas from them. Please don`t feel bounded to these logos and ideas, but meanwhile these might give you a clear idea about what my taste is like.

The image (1a) is my favorite. But I don`t like the color of orange. I wish something similar to that could be done in shiny silver or something. So I have attached a few more files and I named them "Image (1a adjustment)". They are some silver pencils and one of them is a black and white pencil. I think it would look much nicer if the "image (1a)", that is an orange pencil in form of a parachute, could be designed with the color of silver or black and white, or black and silver.

The file named "image (1b)" that I have attached also looked very appealing. It is a pen, with a lamp in it. Perhaps it could also be changed to look like an A, standing for the A in Aria.

"image (1c) is also a nice idea. An "A" with a person reading a book inside it.

"image (1d)" is very creative, a pencil in form of a tent.

"image (1e)" is interesting in the way that the "t" in tutoring is turned into a plus, and in my case maybe Aria Tutoring could also use this idea, making an "A+" out of it.

In "image (1f)" the watery shadows look very nice.

In "image (1g)" the assembly of letters seemed creative.

"image (1g)" looks somewhat nice too.

Other ideas have also crossed my mind, such as:

A cool writing of "Aria" and a human figure standing in a relaxed pose, with his back laying back to the "A" of Aria.
A cool writing of Aria with a one of those logo tiny human figures for the "i" of Aria, trying to climb up to get to the top of "A" of Aria, like a student who is trying to get an A.
Or maybe something that has nothing to do with Aria, with no letters and words in the logo, but rather a symbolic logo that has something to do with education, school, learning, graduation cap, pencil (I have seen pencil with parachute that looked cool) or tutoring session and lessons.

But I am not a logo expert, and if my ideas sound funny and not interesting to you, please disregard them and stick to your own ideas. I am sure there are many great ideas and many factors to consider that a logo designer is aware of and I am not. Please communicate your feedback with me about the ideas I suggested.

I am a student with a tight budget but I am rewarding $100 in this contest, because I am a perfectionist and I would definitely expect my company`s logo to be perfect as well.
