Hi,
I hope someone can help me with a logo design for my new project. We are a London based electronic music (House / Techno / Minimal) Radio Station & Record label. I now want to start a relaxed style clothing range . A lot of the clothes are going to be very plain and contemporary its going to be all about the cut and the size of the clothing. For example plain white & black T-shirts just slightly baggy with the small logo stitched in. Think of All Saints and Skate board type fashion. So this takes me to the logo idea, Im looking for something which works on contemporary clothing but which represents a Londoner (London Fashion / Lifestyle). I don't like modern London, i like Victorian & Edwardian times because i feel that the people were more classy and tasteful back then and things were done with a lot more care and attention for detail. So please bare that in mind when doing the designs (anything to do with modern day London will be rejected). Its important the the logo is not over detailed as it will be embroidered into most of the clothing so anything too detailed will not come out clearly on the design.
So to put it in a nut shell the logo need to be: Not over detailed, Victorian / Edwardian London inspired but still work on contemporary styled clothing. It will be embroidered on to cloths no bigger than about 1 inch big so you must think how its going to look when this small. Obviously i am on here for advice from experts so please feel free to come up with your fresh concepts as i say im open to other ideas and designs.

And...about respecting the designer...I respect him and his design, (not just me, others are well) Its evident from my comments below the design that won the contest. advway was plain lucky to have earned your 'conduct certificate'. I'm still glad that someone won this contest finally, cos more than a month ppl spent on this contest. Finally...the end kiddo CH. Don't expect me to comment again cos I actually have other work to do. (Not like you who keep saying "I'm very busy and don't have time to give feedback to every design" and spend a whole day or so writing 'essays' on the Public Clarification Board! :D

(If you had rather spent time giving feedback to designs instead of spending time replying to 'sensitive' comments, you d have had a better design by now. With this attitude, I'm sorry you are getting no where. "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference" as rightly said by Winston Churchill. So... good luck with your future endeavors and goodbye! Take the attitude of a student, never be too big to ask questions, never know too much to learn something new.

I have no problem with the freelancer if he purchased it from canstock.com he can use it anywhere he want but, I have problem with contest holder, 100s of designers working on this project for hours (because it's prize money) and in most of our list this design is not in top 100.

advway win by his attitude (as per CH comments): If CH told us in the starting that designers having good attitude will WIN (NO creativity, NO design skill required) then I think everyone want to be his friend BUT he mention it so many times that "He is not here to make friends" so no one tried it ....."If he make some friends here he would have a very creative logo in his hand + some helpful creative designers for future work"

I saw this always works on this site: I find a big prized contest..LOL!!! i want the money and i do everything for this..but i have no inspiration, so..Google God, please help me cause i'm desperate to win..but wtf, another one stolen my idea and i spent hours to google it..so wtf, another few hours to talk bullshits deserve it...i don't know, maybe i will win with this. No offense or make a bad comment, but the problem is that in the brief you ask for an elegant and creative logo and sorry but your selection is not any of those things is the opposite, and with so many clothing brands on the market will be very difficult to put it into a good place, I understand how difficult it is to launch a brand and you should do it with a distinctive logo and not something you bought in bulk and your logo should stand out from the other brands, I wish you the best of look and i hope your logo will serve you for what you need.

We can't change what happened here. But maybe the way forward on big prize money is to have Freelancer management pick a panel of freelancers (perhaps 3) to review the entries BEFORE the client sees them. The panel members would received a percentage of their prize money.

it's not fair to pay £700 for copy design, the contest holder should contact at the freelancer.com to restart the contest again. I saw the other CH, He sealed the contest but then 3 days left he un-sealed it, so other designer will help him check the copy design. You can use his way. Good luck. :-)

Definitely a freelancer accustomed to copy know many inspiration sources and he can help all contest holders here. Can freelancer.com to create a paid work for this?. Are many people here trying to discredit other's works more than working on their own projects (especially when their work is unappreciated) :)))

Ok I have heard from Freelancer. Regarding this case they will block the winner from receiving the money as it is clearly not an original design. So CH, your next challenge would be to entertain complaints for the winner.

Be serious man, Freelancer.com do nothing. If the agreement is signed, all is over. They are interested about money only. Try on 99designs and you will see. You have any fee there when you win a contest, all money for your work are yours.Serious projects, the most contest holders are arts or project managers and you work for their clients. This freelance.com may you to have a playground here, and this is very bad, because some people really try to work !

If he legally purchase this vector from canstock.com then he can use this, but yes I am agree with most of the freelancers many logos submitted are much better then this.

OMG! Again trapped by a great copy master ... like "yiama" in the first phase :(.
I think, when he knows nothing about original and non original design then he really deserve this ..a BIG $12.00 logo for just 700 GBP :) ... This logo is useless for him until the winning designer work over it for next few months ... may be years :) YES may be years because who cannot sketch original artwork how can she alter and modify it to make it something ORIGINAL.
This kettle cannot be used for logo due to some legal issues and cannot be registered as trademark.

I agree with you.. If 1975 designs/concepts got rejection, how many revision for the chosen concept will be made? and how long? a year?? Yes, maybe a year..
And about copy cat / non-original,, I think that's none of our problem,, because we only lose time not money.. But I cant stop to laugh for about 10 minutes when I see what design is chosen and when I see that some people report.. Congratz CH.. ROFL..

I highly recommend 99designs.com In this site, the CH is prompted to select what style, colour, fonts, dimensions, file types, target audience, and so on he/she is looking for. He/she must also pick from a series of different styles images provided by the site so that we, the designers have a understanding of the requirements. That's what's missing in this site.
