Design a Logo for Water Engineering company

Contest Brief

Recently, my company was bought out by a competing company in the same field of service.

We want to create a new logo to create an entirely seperate brand altogether.

Here are some pertinent details of the project:

1) The Old company name was "Industrial Water Treatment." That company logo is attached with file name "IWT.png" for your reference. You can view the websites used for this company at www.austinindustrialwater.com (newer version) or www.industrial-watertreatment.com (older version)

2) The company that bought us out... is called "Water Engineering" ... their logo is attached with file name "Engineering.png" for your reference. Please NOTE: this "logo" is not the actual logo... it normally has a clear background... this was chopped from the website. This is only for reference. See their site at www.h2oeng.com

3) We are progressing to be a "green company" which minimizes the use of chemicals. We would like something in the logo to reflect that. It can be subtle... ideally subconscious (think of the "arrow" within the FedEx logo).

4) Logo should be delivered in 3 parts: 1) exported .png file 2) photoshop file with layers preserved (for future changes, edits, resizing, etc) 3) small and large format. large format should be atleast 3000x2000

This was an extremely hard decision... took us three times longer than usual to decide. Thank you to all who participated... you are all very talented and each have very unique perspectives. In the near future... we may offer a purchase for a couple of the other designs... so while the contest is over... the work never is ;)

  thanks for the heads up Psynation... you saved us from a possible catastrophe as a lot of our business is located where the original logo came from (a company in Houston, TX) ... how did you find the copy? How can I avoid making the same mistake?

  just dont make the contest blind. basically all designers are not copying. so a good designer will easily know which design is copied. but you can do image search too. the winning design got caught because there are hell lot of companies that are using the same logo what you made winner.

Can use: Water Engineering or Water Engineering, Inc. or WEI or WE (can even get creative and use something like chemical formula for water) but do NOT use "company" ... thanks!
