THIS SITE IS TERRIBLE....

Dec 23: http://www.firstfoundation.ca/ This is another site that we consider to be good.
**Please note True North was sited as a site we liked and think has done a good job but they are our direct competition so Please do not make it too similar to True North**

So for this project I need 1 Home Page design, and 1 Inner Page design to present to my client. I sold my client on the importance of design, that the details matter and that it will improve conversion rates.

So I need some very detailed and high end designs that are very current but show an above than average attention to detail. I and my client both agree that www.true north mortgage.ca does a very good job of presenting information.

**I will be using cartoon graphics for the image sliders and will be similar to the graphics used on iWriter.com If you can do this style of illustration this is a huge plus since I would likely need to hire you for those slides. Keep in mind that cartoon graphic style will be incorporated in the design.**

Client is Mortgage For Less.

Site layout is as follows:

1-Top left logo, navigation

2-Image slider, not video like True North, but the image slider will be using custom illustrations with a similar cartoon style. The slides will try to tell a story that fits with the site's main objective, funneling visitors to apply online using the secure online mortgage application.

3-next section below the slider: Why Mortgages For Less Please use clever use of graphics to make this look better than just some text with a heading.

4-next section below that is: The Secure Online Mortgage Application. This section needs to be visually compelling, catch the users eye and motivate them to want to click on the button that says "Apply Online" in larger text, then under it "No Obligation, Get Your Rate" in smaller text.

5- Next, Testimonials Section: Here also I want a visually appealing section that will ideally have the actual person who gave the testimonial's face / head in a circle with detail beside their testimonial. There will be 6 to 8, and then a read more button to take you to the testimonials page for the rest.

6- Next, 8 Step How To Get A Mortgage: A graphic illustration by the same illustrator who does the image sliders that depicts the whole process of getting a mortgage in 8 steps. Do not feel you need to invest a lot of time in this. The slider illustrations and these graphics are a whole other design project that will be posted. If you are good at this type of illustration then by all means give me a taste of what you can do.
Just put a place holder in this section that roughly depicts an 8 step process.

7- Next, Mortgage Tools and Resources. This section will have the mortgage calculator, useful links, Tools but layed out visually and lead to pages similar to the http://www.truenorthmortgage.ca/mortgage-solutions page.

8-Next section: The site copy or text.

9- Last, footer section.

So the site will need to use good modern fonts availble on Googel Web Fonts. This is very important me.

Colors: We do love True North But can't be seen as stealing the style too much but we do like the orange and dark blue. You can't use it as much as TN. Ideally present an alternative color combo with same design.

Ok, so I read the Freelancer Q&A and I will be leaving the contest open till the very end and then take some time to choose a winner. So if you have put some work into a design please still submit it. I have 14 days apparently to choose a winner after the contest is closed.

  Hey everyone thank you for all the great submissions! I after getting a decent sampling I think what I would like to see is some sort of design element or elements that repeat through out the sections.
  I've identified the main sections I want to see. The winner will be the one that shows the most unique or original design within each section and ideally "connect" the different sections with a recurring design element. Almost all of you have done a great job of a section but the designs I'm drawn to have a recurring design theme. Hope that helps!
