Contest Brief

Create a website mock up (layered PSD) for:
- Front page
- Tip detail page
- Tip overview page

This is a site which is some sort of mashup of tripadvisor.com and ferietipset.no (NOT THE GRAPHICAL DESIGN, but the content/boxes, like top rated tips, top hotels, top restaurants, filters, map view and so on) It is important that the design looks UNIQUE and not a simple rip off.

Important things to keep in mind while designing this:

Please use real content in the design mockup, ABSOLUTELY NO LOREM IPSUM DOLOR SIT AMET type of fill in text.

1: Site will at a later stage be made in wordpress and should be 100% responsive, keep this in mind while designing
2: Site will integrate flight search, hotel search, car rental search, so make sure this is included
3: Frontpage should highlight most popular tips, users with most tips, featured travel story, "why people should join this community", number of tips on the site, banner ad space and other things you think would be suitable for such a site. Ideas much welcome
4: Design is important but MOST important is UI ( user interface). It should be easy to navigate and understand how the site works. So design needs to be clean but yet very appealing. Made for people between 18-35 years old primarily (so needs to be appealing to this age group)
5: Filters and ways for users to navigate is very important for such a site. Users needs to find what they are looking for, so user interface, navigation and easy to understand graphical layout is important
6: Website will have banner ads on the site. So the design must also include banners in various positions and sizes. They should be fairly visible yet not interfere too much with the user experience. All banners should follow the norwegian banner format sizes.
7: Tips could be anything from bars, restaurants, beaches, hotels, locations, architecture, cafes, attractions, tours, activities and more. Anything travel related really.
8: A map view is essential. It is important that users can see tips on a map and filter these by using different types of filters. We would be using Google maps so take this into consideration when making the designs.
9: Each tip will include information as follows (not all tips will have/show all info but will be in the database..)
- Name/Title
- Address
- Phone
- Mail
- Website address
- Images
- Intro text
- General text
- Username (who created the tip)
- Tip rating
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Featured/Highlighted
- Date created
- Category (type of tip)
- Tags
- Tour provider
- Book button (link)

Seems like we have to clarify one thing about what we have written in the Contest description. When we wrote "a mashup of tripadvisor and ferietipset" we did not talk about graphical design. We are referring to the overall functionality and content elements. Like top rated tips, top hotels, best beaches, book a flight and so on. Not the actual placement of logos, or create a copy of tripadvisor and just change the colors of the site. In other words, the site should look UNIQUE in terms of graphical design, but it should keep all the content elements (more or less) I hope this makes sense, if anyone is unclear, please let us know.

My comments was that even though I wrote mashup between Tripadvisor and Ferietipset.no site, I was simply referring to the content and modules/boxes they use, not the graphical layout nor the exact same content. But the fact that one should be able to book flights, read top 10 tips from users, see which users has the most tips, how many tips are on the site, top destinations and so on. The main purpose is to create a design with GREAT functionality and content, which is what these 2 sites has combined.

  Hello. We thought about adding the logo into this contest but will do that later. I can however reveal that we are found of green, blue and in general light colours. Website name is www.reisetipset.no but there are currently nothing there. I hope this helps?
