Contest Brief

The contest is to design a set of icons to replace the icons you can see on the attached ‘old_design’ image, and to use your icons to create a psd mockup design to replace the existing category listing format.

Please Note –

The design must be fully responsive so that it can fit seamlessly into the existing fully responsive website.

The icons and design must reflect the theme (but not the existing colour scheme) of the website. (The attachments provide the website url for you to see the theme).

The designs must be original, artistic, creative, and have an instant wow factor.

As an extra incentive to you, this icon design is the 1st stage of a complete redesign of the website PLANNER section; therefore if the contest winning designs are impressive, the winner may also be hired to create psd mockup redesigns for each of the planner pages.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

The contest is 7 hours old, and all I have received are icons that I could buy for about £3 from any image stock website. If you wish to be considered, please don't send me basic icons. If you do I will immediately reject your entry. Enter original creative designs that you have designed specifically for my website.

3D, colourfull icons would definitely be considered. Also please do not enter mockups that could be designed by a schoolchild - you are supposed to be professional creative designers.

  I think Onefilter shouldn't say that kind of things. Is not necessary, neither mature. By the other hand, dear Contest Holder, you should provide other kind of feedbacks, even when you don't like what designers are presenting, to keep them motivated to make things better you should be more kind and not compare work with things you could buy outside, even if you consider them too simple. That doesn't keep designers motivated at all, also rejecting projects, you could provide 1 start to let them know they're not on the right track... Regards.

  Hi Kubographics. Yes you are partly right in my criticism, but please understand how annoying it is to offer £100 to design creative original icons, then receive entries that include the most basic images, some of which i know are internet stock images. I don't appreciate people TRYING to treat me like a fool, and that is why I have reacted like I have. My Freelancer employer record is exemplary, but this contest is testing my patience,

  if they're for an app, the should be clean and direct, not complex detailed icons, if not, people will get lost, for sure. I have a kind of idea of what you're looking for now, but no thanks. I really lost my motivation, this is not the kind of feedback I expected, doesn't matter, you'll have plenty of other entries from other users. Regards

  What type of feedback were you expecting? Wow, brilliant, fantastic, what creativity you have with a basic wheel for control panel, a basic calculator for budget, a basic bell for reminder, a basic bulb for ideas, a basic envelope for e-mail – How can you possibly think this is original or creative. I can see these icons on thousands/millions of websites. And could buy them from any stock image website for peanuts.

  If you wish to be considered, don't provide icons that i could buy for about £3 from numerous image websites. If you are a creative designer, use your creativity. Also your mockup is something I could have done myself in minutes.
