Yarışma Özeti

The contest winner will design an excel dashboard which will be for an accountant to manage clients, track compliance and monitor monthly cash flow for the accounting firm.

Tracking Compliance

There are numerous reports that are due on a recurring basis. I need a way to check off as they are done which will automatically indicate that the next one is due. I have included notes in the dummy data.

Monthly Cash Flow

I have not included this in the dummy spreadsheet but I am thinking there will need to be additional worksheets representing the months in the financial year. Each sheet should have a table that draws some of the data from the table in the Data tab. I will then enter figures into the table each month which will be represented by a guage or a thermometer on the dashboard, but also link back to the table in the Data tab and increase the Fees Drawn column where required.

What I would like to see be included:

1. A worksheet used only for data (I have included dummy data)
2. Cash flow to be represented by a thermometer or guage
3. Cash flow to be shown for previous month, current month and next month
4. The dashboard to be visually appealing
5. A way to change the dashboard by month (so selecting July 2016 will change all the data being shown and update it as it will consider July 2016 to be the current month)

To be included on the dashboard itself:

1. A count of how many 524's are due this month
2. A count of how many 476's are due this month
3. A count of how many 533's are due this month
4. A count of how many RTC's are due this month
5. A count of how many BAS's are due this month
6. Cash flow (fees drawn in the current month)
6. Anything else that makes it look good

I have included a dummy data spreadsheet for all of you geniuses to play around with. I've also attached some dashboard examples.

$$$$ Happy to provide a bonus if I am blown away by the entry $$$$

In your entries below, please include a screenshot of an example for your contest entry. I will judge mainly on the look of the dashboard and whether I find it suitable.

I am happy for you to make this your own - I've only provided what I think would be best. Design away!!

Do you mean : "cash will be the fees drawn on each jobs" is fees drawn for each combinination from manager, staf and type based BAS date? This is the example: if i choose the month january in dashboard, then you will see how many AGM that appear in month = january and BAS = january; you will see also fee drawn for staf GD with type CVL (you can choose combination beetween staf and type) in month = january and BAS = january. Is it correct? Because i have to determinate fees drawn this month is month in dashbord = what date? (date in coulumn G or BAS or other coulumn? Thanx for your explanation

The fees drawn are per Company, not per staff or type. So the dashboard should show the addition of all cash entered for a particular month across all jobs.

Eg. Company 1 expected March cash is $50,000 and Company 2 expected March cash is $20,000 - the dashboard should show $70,000 when March is selected.

I have recommended that each month be added as a separate tab to make it easier, or perhaps a separate column in the Data table. The decision is up to the designer.

      I hope this helps

I would like to ask some question 1. What is the use of CAB coulumn? Can you describe more about what you need in cash flow? The las can you increase prize? #increaseprize

      1. CAB is Cash At Bank (these figures wont be linked anywhere or have any formulas in them)
      2. The cashflow should be 12 tabs in the worksheet (one for each month). It should have a list of all the Company's matching the list in Data tab. It should also have the Fees approved, Fees drawn and Fees Available columns in it, matching the Data tab. There should then be a blank column which I can manually put in estimated figures which will add to a figure on the dashboard. So in short, the cashflow is an estimation of fees that can be billed from each client company in a particular month.
      3. Unfortunately, the price will remain as is for now. As I have mentioned to others, if I increase it, other contestants will just keep asking me to increase it. Everyone has a different opinion on how much this will cost and the guaranteed amount is my estimate. All good if this deters you entering.

Good day, thankyou for your interest in this project. Based on your query I get the impression you understand this quite well. I would like to seethe compliance tasks for that month which is selected as opposed to what is coming up in the next 30 days (although this would be a good idea as well).

Net month was meant to read Next Month. I have amended the description - thankyou for being perceptive

    @Kononi,
When you change the date on the Dashboard, in addition to the cashflow changing, would you like to also see what you would need to do for Compliance that month? (e.i. Do you want to see what is due on Feb-2017 when you enter that month?) Or would you prefer the dashboard to show you what you have coming up in the next 30 days (or any other time span)?
Also, what do you mean by "net month" in #3 of "What I would like to see be included"? (Is this supposed to be next month perhaps?)

Hi Shuja10, six month anniversary is every six months from the Date column. E.g. starting on 1/1/2015, the six month anniversary would be 1/6/2015 and the next one 1/1/2016 and so on. The yearly anniversary is twelve months from the Date column. E.g. starting on 1/1/2015, the yearly anniversary would be 1/1/2016. I hope this helps to clarify

if it's only the design of the dashboard then it's applicable to have 70AUD as a prize, but with functionalities maybe increase it as twice as the current prize
