We have a MapBox map that tracks vehicles. The system is setup to track different kinds of vehicle "types" such as bus, car, truck, SUV, earth-mover, trailer, tractor, fixed asset (ex: Cargo box, kiosk, items without wheels that does not typically move)
We developed a prototype icon (see attached file) for car. The deliverable for each type of icon should be the same as the attached example. Roughly the same size, type etc. There should be 2 direction icons (green for moving and red for stopped) and 8 vehicle type icons delivered (includes the 1 fixed asset icon) (Also, the vehicle type icons would need to have the green and red version that overlay over the direction icon). The direction icon should be a circle with an arrow showing direction from it. This is used to show which direction the vehicle is [login to view URL] vehicle type icons should overlay into the circle icon.
For the purposes of selecting a winner of the contest I only need 3 sample icons to consider:
1. Proposed direction icon. (green and red)
2. Proposed car vehicle type icon. (green and red)
3. Proposed tractor vehicle type icon. (green and red)
The winner would then be expected to design the remaining vehicle type icons mentioned above in green and red.
We like the overall size of our provided sample icon. We also like the idea of the circle with a pointer for the direction icon. We think it could be made to look better but or not sure how. We are open to any type of style for the vehicle icons. It should just be clear what type of vehicle it is.
For the earth mover icon we would suggest to use something that looks like a bull dozer or backhoe. Just so that it does not get confused with the tractor.
NOTE: The icon we need is not a "pin" that shows locations. It is an arrow that shows the "direction" the vehicle is moving in. The arrow will be turned North, South, East and West.
