  I don't know how to officially shorten the time, and in order to get the most bang for my buck, I'm waiting till the end of the contest. As in more artists usually submit entries in the last few days of contests.

     I actually don't know. But I've seen that the contests can be extended (from a short period to a longer period)
     
     Although, I don't think that the 4 weeks are neccesarily a problem, since i think that you can select a winner at any point in time (but I'm not entirely sure about it)
     
     I know that the freelancer staff are eager to help and the FAQ section is pretty clear. Take a look into that

  Dear CH: Thank you for your explanation. It is very interesting. It is also important to know the second point: "do not draw people". But I just did a draft with three people, Rayton, Chak Chel and Sharn chatting in the darkness for chapter 1. I submit the entry anyway.   Dear those who lance freely with pens, paints, and brushes on yonder planet Earth, greetings. This here be my first-time hosting contest in this here mystic portal. I apologize to those who have already submitted artwork that I might need to disregard. This is an update for requirements.
  1. This contest is for either chapter one or two. I will continue with a new contest for chapter three, after this one.
  2. Please do not draw people, as I think they will be best left to the imagination of the reader.
  3. I will comment on every entry that I can with hints, such as, if you read the first paragraph of the book again, the moon(skystone) might not be as round as you've painted it to be, or I don't remember mentioning teepees anywhere, stuff like that.
  4. If you could support this endeavor by buying a copy of my Ebook or paperback, a 5 to 10 dollar investment, to possibly win a 150 dollar award? It will be greatly appreciated. Plus you might even enjoy the book, who knows?

  Dear CH: I have read through the first two chapters and found an error there. Shortly before the second chapter ends, the context is messed up. The content after the first paragraph on page 23 (chatting between the older Chak Chel and Rayton) does not match the previous content (chatting between Joule and his father) of this chapter. Please check and make necessary corrections, or my understanding is wrong? And there is a mistake when you wrote "Yang Wang Yama King" on page 3. It should be "Yan Wang Yama King". Please check. Thank you for your attention.

     Thank you! I didn't know it is Yan Wang and not Yang Wang, I could change it in the next revision... but then again it kind of plays to the satire of stereotypes, no? Maybe Rayton is saying it like that on purpose, to make fun of his frenemy. The other scene is meant to be that way. I don't know if it came across as difficult to understand, but I put the scene in there to show that everything you read, even sworn as historical facts, will always contain a bit of bias, no matter how hard people try to report honestly... then again this is a work of fiction and I wanted creative leeway, to have fun, but still keep it somewhat believable. Keep the magic alive...as we say.

  Hi, I´ve read the fisrt chapter of the novel. It´s quite hard to understand the story without any background, it seems to be a futuristic/fantasy story, but there are lots of elements and characters that are hard to understand because thay are so unique (ex. chimeras's eye) could you upload aome general information about the setting and characters??

     Exactly that! I am looking for artists with imagination. Read and imagine. In the first few chapters, we know that there is a hologram with a camera that flies around and films scenes in a mystic world, and this camera plays music, matching the scenes. I chose to play with the wording of the camera with chimera. If you look up chimera on the internetties, you will find it to be some sort of mystic greek hybrid creature. Mixed with the fact that its a camera, we have a cyborg animal creature thingy, that flies and has an eye for filming, the rest is up to the imagination! But yes, I also think the Eye of Chimera is the focus point for chapter one, I wanted to see if and who would pick up on that. You have my attention, lets see what you come up with.

  I have attached three of the first chapters of my book here in the details tab of this contest. But this project is for native English speakers. Once I sell enough copies in English, I will hire translators. It will be expensive because I will need people 100% proficient in English and another language. Also, my writing style is kinda diffi iffy.

  Dear contest holder,
  I'm an avid reader of many different literary genres. After reading the first chapter of your book, I already know it's going to be a good one. Just one question though... I've read from your comment in one of the entries that you cannot print in color. Having said that, would hand drawn black and white images suffice? I specialize in realist art style.
