Hi, thanks for taking a look at our design contest.
We are requesting ideas for the design of the left side navigation menu of a website.
Please look at the attached screenshot, which shows the site. The black area on the left is the area where the navigation menu will be. (It does not need to be full vertical length, though).
We welcome your design submissions for this menu -- it should look professional and be in harmony with the existing page elements.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Your design(s) can be submitted as a simple image file, but we will ask the winning designer to create the actual menu, in HTML/CSS. Please understand that this HTML/CSS work is to be included as part of this project.
This navigation menu should contain the following items:
Add a Vehicle
Export to AutoTrader
Export to [url removed, login to view]
Export to AdNetwork
Post videos to YouTube
Post Inventory on Facebook
Post to Ebay
Build Print Ad
Print Buyer's Guides
Print Vehicle Flyers
Print Inventory List
Refer a Dealer
Finally, just a few important notes:
The items in CAPS are simply category headings, and not links themselves.
The top "Add a vehicle" item should be distinct from the rest of the menu, perhaps button-like, and bright green, similar to the "Edit" buttons to the right.
One thing to keep in mind is that this site is like a web application, rather than a standard informational site, so it would be good if the menu feels a bit "action-oriented".
The look we are going for is clear and professional, but elements such as drop shadows or gloss are acceptable if they are not too crazy.
We have lots of design/HTML/CSS projects coming up, so if we work well together this we may be able to do considerable more work together in the future.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing your ideas.
