Contest Brief

We are a 93-year old mechanical contracting company located in Central California. In the coming months we will launch our new, wholly-owned subsidiary: INTEGREN.

In the first 2-4 years, Integren will rely on the parent company's reputation & customer base to quickly earn credibility & access to existing markets. However, Integren will be branded as a stand-alone business offering the following services:

o Virtual 3-D systems design by licensed engineers (HVAC, piping, medical gas, refrigeration, etc.);
o Budgeting, design, construction & maintenance of mechanical and energy/solar systems for hospitals, schools, commercial buildings & residential;
o LEED certified & Green Building design & commissioning;
o HVAC systems replacement & maintenance (both residential and commercial);
o Energy auditing & forecasting;

In terms of logo design, we would like it to reflect that we are quick-moving, innovative, cutting-edge, with the highest level of expertise in our industry (HVAC/Energy/Mechanical). We will focus on a system's energy implications (costs), in addition to the cost of installation or replacement. And by using engineers we provide customized solutions, rather than cookie-cutter. The industry is old & slow-moving; we would like the logo to "pop" but without being too "loud".

Though we intend to establish Integren as its own brand, we would not automatically be against a logo design that incorporates elements of our parent company logo (attached). For example, the parent company logo has an "N" that could be utilized in the name Integren. Association with the parent company definitely is not a requirement--it will be up to you, and preference will be given to a design that is the most creative & reflective of our descriptions above.

    MY QUESTION IS: How can be possible for the CH choose a winner without even finish the contest time? I have just recieved a message saying that Integren CH chose the contest winner. Unfortunalely Freelancer.com is becoming a mess allowing something like that.

    There is no need to use the letter \"N\" in the logo, unless it resembles the parent company\'s \"N\" logo. We are more drawn, however, to original designs that don\'t use our parent company logo.

      I think if you were trying to visually convey \"integration\" (one of our root words) by showing the letters blending into the background logo, you were successful & smart to do what you did. Visually, however, we\'re also looking for something in 3-D, or 2-D with more \"pop\".

      I would advise against both letters \"I\" & \"N\". We\'re not necessarily seeking one or both letters in the logo. We\'re mostly concerned with the overall look, and if it reflects the description of our business model.
