Proactive Environmental Services is an environmental consulting firm that assists industrial companies in Clean Air Act compliance. We specializes in fugitive emissions program set-up, testing and maintenance. Fugitive emissions are emissions from non-traditional sources - everyone can see emissions billowing out of smoke stacks, draining into rivers, and being carted out of refineries in dump trucks and tanker cars. Fugitive emissions are emissions from valve seals, pump seals, flange gaskets, etc,, located in the miles and miles of piping systems at these facilities.

We've developed a unique drawing based approach to component inventory. Check out our website www.pesldar.com Your new logo design will be prominent in our soon to be revamped website

Our company is sometimes referred to as "PES" (pronounced pez)

I've attached a few images of a TVA, which is the equipment we use to perform the testing. I've also attached images of valves, which are the most common components in our business which require testing.

Attached are two images of oil refineries - the tall columns are often used for dramatic artistic effect - I'm not saying that I require that in a logo, just adding images for you to think about.

I've also attached our current logo - the back-to-back green triangles is a schematic representation for a valve. The little sun overlaying the symbol represents a significant period of growth for our company when we were working at a large refinery in the Caribbean.

Our customers are chemical producers, petrochemical producers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, oil refineries, oil and gas producers, pulp and paper mills - basically any operation where hazardous chemicals are used in large quantity. Our customers are not likely to be impressed or drawn to anything to dainty, or anything that looks like it might be part of a "green" movement. Our typical customer drives a pick-up truck, owns shotguns and rifles for hunting, plays poker and eats lots of red meat. They're not trying to find any rainbows.

The winning contestant will provide me with an ai file, and may be asked to make minor modifications to the winning entry.

Thank you all for the wonderful design ideas. I am thrilled that so many talented designers became involved in this project. Truly, there are are at least 25 logo designs here that I would be proud to have represent our company.

FYI - we'll be running these designs through a large focus group to reduce the entries to the 16 most effective. Many of your designs have tested out well to a general audience. Now the focus group will be comprised only of people close to the industry.

Once we've reached the final 16, those entries will be analyzed by the company management group and the winning entry will be selected.

Thank you all for your wonderful designs. Just an FYI - flowers, trees and leaves are not testing well in the focus group. Images, silhouettes, and caricatures of valves, industrial equipment, tanks, spheres, refinery skylines, workers in hard hats and safety glasses, etc. are testing much better.
