This contest is for the redesigning of a logo for Disc & Print Centre, www.dpcentre.net.
We are getting a new website done within the next few weeks and want to revamp our logo to look a bit more professional, modern and classy.
We are well known for the current logo by the splash at the end but we'd like to see what other variations could be achieved. We like the idea of a water / chrome effect similar to the SKY TV's look but we would welcome any ideas that come our way. Our main areas of business are CD/DVD Duplication, Printing & Signage. We don't mind the use of icons being incorporated into it either.
The logo will need to also work well for 1 - 2 colour work but will be used mainly as full colour CMYK. Avoid using script fonts, We don't know should we keep the splash or go for a total new look. Were open to suggestions but it does need to have some catchy level of colours due to us being printers!!

well if you look at the effort that was put in from that contest winner you might get some idea as to why they were picked. he illustrated how the logo would look in multiple backgrounds, wood, leather, 3d signage and even window graphics. I could clearly see the the entries that put in the most work and not just submitting flat graphics

Sir , Please let me know through PM what you didn't like about #120 . I had tried a lot of permutation and combination to get the best professional look . And after a lot of trial #75 seemed more professional to me . As far as the effects go, that is mainly the lighting effects . But then Lighting effects just alter the look because in real life when you are using it on printing it won't give you the same effect. I tried out printing my logo by putting lighting effects and chrome effects on the text and logo . And I thought I should let you know that , it wasn't giving a very good output . As per my personal and professional opinion the text should be kept simple whereas the logo can bear the colors which gives the maximum professional output . However , this is just my personal opinion . Do let me know what you think about it .Thank you !

For designers , Thimbell and edZartworkz , (without any disrespect to your designs ) , I just wanted to say that your designs are almost the same . I have seen many designers making the exact same versions (pinky #77 #27) . I don't think That is possible unless it's a free stock logo.
