Contest Brief

I need a logo of a chess club to be re-created based on their old logo. Their current logo is attached to this description. The current version is a bit amaturistic made in the nineties.

The current logo is based on the old city logo/coat of arms (1). Main colors are red, blue and white.
During the years companies have used created logo's based on this city logo. see (2, 3, 4)

The new logo should represent quality and dignity. I need a colored version (for the website) and a black/white version for printing

Specification of the logo:
- the tower has 4 windows
- the tower has a porch
- colored version: tower = red
- colored version: it would be nice to use some blue, referring to the city-colors.
- usable for website logo and larger printing
