Modern Hillside Luxury Villa – Architectural Concept Competition
We are looking for exceptional architectural concepts for a modern luxury hillside residence on a sloped plot in Austria.
The property must accommodate two separate houses, each with approximately 250 sqm living area.
However, only one house needs to be fully designed in detail.
The second house can remain conceptual to demonstrate the overall site strategy and placement.
The goal of this competition is to generate:
innovative floorplan ideas
strong architectural concepts
photorealistic 3D renderings
a unique and timeless architectural identity
Architectural Vision
The architecture should feel:
modern
minimalistic
timeless
warm and luxurious
integrated into the landscape
We are NOT looking for generic luxury villas.
The design language should combine:
exposed concrete
raw steel
natural wood
natural stone
large glass facades
clean modern lines
calm and elegant proportions
The lower part of the building should appear more solid and grounded, mainly using:
exposed concrete
raw materials
earthy textures
The upper part should feel lighter and more transparent with:
large glass surfaces
open views
floating architectural elements
seamless indoor/outdoor transitions
The architecture should have a strong emotional atmosphere while remaining understated and elegant.
Site & Layout
The site is sloped/hillside terrain.
Requirements:
Two houses must fit on the property
Each house approx. 250 sqm
Privacy between the houses is important
Strong orientation towards views and sunlight
Terraced integration into the hillside preferred
Only ONE house must be fully developed in detail.
Access & Circulation
Access to the property must be provided from the rear side of the plot.
The required access road is marked in red in the provided site plan and should be integrated into the overall architectural and site concept.
Important considerations:
Functional and elegant vehicle access
Smooth integration into the hillside terrain
Garage access for both houses
Minimal visual impact on the architecture and landscape
Privacy and clean arrival situation preferred
The access concept should feel natural and well integrated into the architecture rather than purely technical.
