We have a Magento site where the catalog sale rules does not stick. Crons are running correctly but the command was missing from the scheduler. catalogrule_apply_all We added it back in to AOE scheduler but it doesn't show in cron log and products on sale just expire unless manually applied. Since Magento 1.9, this CMS changed the order confirmation email to a cron activated task. It was all set up and the application AOE registered the heartbeats correctly. Now, suddenly, without any modification to the website the order confirmation email are not sent anymore. The AOE extension is registering the cronjobs correctly, the email is placed in the database core_email_queue table as it should be....but the emails never get sent and they are piling up in the database table. I just need this problem fixed. Thank you.

You need to specifically understand the issue with cron jobs not running in Magento 1.9.2.2. This issue is widely reported on forums and should be an easy fix for a Magento specialist. The AOE scheduler note "No heartbeat task found. Check if cron is configured correctly ",as run now,some job show success ,but some job pending;schedule jobs don't execute,and email of Forgot Your Password can not be sent out.

We found one of our extensions(Mageworx's template generator) generates several huge sql script and drives up our CPU usage. We decided to disable the cron tasks associated with that function via aoe scheduler and delete the old templates associated with the template generator. After doing all these, our frontend(only magento related part) is forced to redirect to https. And we checked our base url and it is the http version. We have to change the unsecured url(core_config_data) to https version, otherwise all the links on our website will get into redirect loop.
