We have a cross platform project that compiles on Linux and Windows using MinGW. The program accesses a VCOMM port via a command line argument such as -p COM3 etc. or -p /dev/ttyACM0 What I want to do is have it automatically find the COM port associated with our device via aan auto option -p auto I already have a simple version of this working on Linux by checking for either ttyACM0 or ttyACM1, however on Windows such a technique will not work. We DO know the VID:PID pair which will always be the same so ideally I would like to give a function in C (not C++) a VID:PID pair and it returns the com port. Remember this is MinGW so I do NOT want a Visual studio solution!

The uses g++ compiler (from mingw-w64) and runs 38+ Million iterations per second on my CPU. The code in , compiled with Visual Studio 2019 and CUDA Toolkit 11.1 returns only about 1600 iterations per second on the GPU.
