Emotionally Expressive Character Design

We are launching a social media brand featuring a lovable, empathetic character who helps people deal with life’s emotional ups and downs (inspired by the tone of Big Feelings). It will be the face of our brand across social media, merchandise, and possibly animation. We are looking for an illustrator/character designer to create a unique, emotionally expressive animal/icon design that is cute, warm, and memorable — able to convey different “big feelings” through body language and expressions. Scope of Work Character Design One primary character (full body, front-facing) Character style should work well in 2D and be adaptable for short animation Friendly, approachable, and expressive (able to show emotions like happy, anxious, thoughtful, calm) Character Sheet 15 facial expressions (happy, sad, anxious, thoughtful, determined, shy, etc.) 10-15 poses (sitting, lying down, jumping, waving, thinking, hugging, etc.) Deliverables High-resolution source files (AI, PSD, or Procreate files) PNG transparent background exports for each pose/expression Full commercial rights transferred to our team Style References Emotionally expressive “mascot” style (soft colours, rounded shapes) Minimalist but able to carry personality in small details Examples: Pusheen, Neko Atsume cats, LINE Friends style (but unique) Timeline 1–2 weeks total from start to delivery First draft/concept sketches within 3–4 days of project start Final files delivered within agreed timeline after revisions
