I have a complete clamp assembly saved as a .STEP file and I need the length of four individual parts modified. All other dimensions must remain untouched so the assembly still fits together perfectly once re-imported into the new CAD files. The 4 parts clamp around a boom/Strutt. The diameter of a new boom/Strutt is approximately twice the size so the 4 parts of the clamp need increasing to build new parts. Here is the scope you’ll handle: • Open my original .STEP file and isolate the four indicated parts of the clamp • Adjust only their length to the new figures I will supply once we start • Preserve origin, mating faces and reference planes so nothing shifts when the file is brought back into my project • Return a clean, rebuilt .STEP that drops straight into the existing assembly without errors or broken mates • As well as the main .STEP file modified also return 4 separate .STEP files for the 4 modified parts of the clamp so that these can be installed to a milling machine for production of the 4 new parts. Before delivery I’ll run the updated file through my usual tolerance checks, so please keep the feature tree tidy and name the edited bodies clearly for quick review. If you work in SolidWorks, Inventor or similar and can turn this around quickly, —I’ll provide the target lengths and any extra notes right away but this should be a quick job for someone.
