I need a lightweight clamp for an optimist dinghy mast. The clamp should be optimized for lightness and must securely grip the mast through friction. Its primary function is to prevent the mast from sliding up through the masthole when pulled. The diameter of the mast is 45mm. The clamp should have a release mechanism. See attached photo for current version of clamp. Target weight is sub 15g. Titanium and carbon may not be used. Preferably the clamp can be 3d printed. Key Requirements: - Material: Plastic composite (or other material). - Color: Grey - Environmental Resistance: Must withstand saltwater exposure and UV radiation Ideal Skills and Experience: - Proficiency in designing with plastic composites - Knowledge in creating lightweight, friction-based clamping mechanisms Please provide examples of similar work if available.
