A prototype in the shape of a hammer with adjustable weights at the top of the handle from 1lb to 5lbs for the purpose of forearm strengthening exercises. Materials will be a combination of durable materials of rubber and metal (like aluminum or other recommended types of metal). Weights will be stored in a weight plate carrier. There will be 5 weight plates on either side of the top of the handle (10 plates total). Weight plates are in the shape of a square (3 inch sides) with rounded corners and the handle is 12-14 inches long. Handle handle diameter is 1.25-1.5 inches that is primarily rubber coated for grip. It will adjust by twisting knob at the bottom of the handle while the handle is set in the weight plate carrier. The device should have a safety mechanism that only allows weights to be adjusted the handle is in the weight plate carrier and cannot be adjusted outside of the carrier. Colors would like to be primarily black with chrome accents. The customer base will be recreational athletes, professional athletes, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers. This project has a timeline of 1-2 months for completion. Using a twist and lock mechanism for weight adjustment is preferred. The design should balance portability and sturdiness, making it reasonably easy to carry without compromising functionality. The budget for this project is flexible, allowing for higher quality materials and precision. The prototype will be created using 3D printing techniques for precision and cost-effectiveness. Include a locking mechanism to secure the weights during use. Keep the prototype plain without any branding or logos. Design should be a basic functional prototype with focus on main features.
