hi I have check your stl files and it seems like an assembly of a box with hinges mechanism. My proposal would be simplify the shape to be like "apple" design shape. And it can be made of polycarbonate for injection mold purposes, but for prototype, you could use 3D printing which could represent your idea. Hi there! I have over 5 years of experience with 3D modelling. To incorporate the surface textures onto your model (bumps, grooves, etc), I'll use displacement maps. For example, let's say that you want a leather like bump throughout the model. In that case, I'll use a height map to displace the faces on the model. This is increase the poly count by a lot, but will leave you with a detailed and textured finish. Also, I can add or remove elements as you please and suggest some changes if you like.
