Write a Short Science Fiction Story

This is a project to ghostwrite a backstory for a minor character in my finished science fiction novel. Your story will go into the appendix of the novel. The story should be 2000+ words long. I will assign you the character, but might be open to your preference if you want to do a different one. The word ‘ghostwrite’ may not be completely accurate, since I plan to list your name under the appendix title as the story writer. Your will be expected to: • Read or skim the entire book manuscript to be aware of the planet, the situation and environment surrounding your assigned minor character. • Decide on a story about that character, from that minor character’s perspective (in third or first person mode). The story should also help the reader know the character better. It may overlap scenes in the book. • Write the story. The story should not contradict the novel. However, the character may have a different understanding or opinion about things. • Edit your story. I already finished the rounds with editors for the novel, so I need you to take extra care of grammar for your story.
