The structure of a web site has been created with Ruby on Rails. Site will be used to analyze store sales, change prices, and create promotions at the stores. ODBC must be used to access store sales and change prices. One of the pages has been created to test the concept, and uses ODBC to access data for the graphs. The user may have access to multiple stores. On each page, the user must be able to select which store is being used. For example, when making a price change, the user must be able to select which stores get the price change. For reports, the user must be able to select multiple date ranges, and multiple stores.
Authority is important. There may be 100+ stores on the server, and but the user may be only authorized to 2 stores. Not all users can perform all functions. For example, some users can update prices, but others cannot.
