Hi — Elias here from Miami. I see you need a WCAG 2.1 AA compliance audit and fixes for your WordPress site. Accessibility is crucial, and it's great that you're prioritizing it. One real challenge here is ensuring that all site elements are truly accessible, especially when it comes to screen readers and mobile devices. A common issue is overlooked areas, like image alt texts or proper heading structures, which can hinder user experience. My approach would start with a thorough audit using tools and manual testing to identify accessibility gaps. After that, I’d focus on implementing the necessary fixes, ensuring that everything aligns with WCAG standards while keeping the site’s functionality intact. To clarify, do you have specific areas of your site that you’re particularly concerned about? Also, what’s your timeline for completing these audits and fixes? Looking forward to discussing this further.

Hi I can audit and fix your existing WordPress website to meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements without redesigning the site or changing its corporate structure. I have strong experience with WordPress accessibility remediation, semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, focus management, accessible forms, color contrast correction, Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe DevTools testing. The main technical problem is that accessibility issues often sit across theme templates, menus, portfolio cards, forms, videos, PDFs, and mobile navigation, so plugin-only fixes are not enough. My approach would be to perform a full audit first, then implement code-level fixes for landmarks, heading hierarchy, alt text, focus states, descriptive links, ARIA labels, and screen-reader behavior. I would pay special attention to the portfolio section, video players, thumbnails, contact forms, mobile menu, touch targets, and keyboard-only usage. I can also create the Accessibility Statement page with audit date, WCAG 2.1 AA statement, contact details, and feedback procedure. After remediation, I would provide Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe reports, along with a clear list of all fixes performed. I can share examples of similar WordPress accessibility and WCAG compliance projects, and PDF accessibility remediation can be reviewed as a separate scope if needed. Thanks, Hercules

Your portfolio section will fail WCAG 2.1 AA if keyboard users cannot navigate the cards without a mouse. I've seen this exact issue block EU funding approvals because the auditor tested with NVDA and couldn't access project details. Two quick questions before I map the fix strategy: Are your portfolio cards built with custom JavaScript or a WordPress plugin like Elementor? And does your video player support keyboard shortcuts natively, or will I need to implement custom controls? Here's the compliance roadmap: - SEMANTIC HTML + ARIA: Refactor portfolio cards with proper button roles, aria-labels for icon buttons, and landmark regions. Add skip-to-content link and ensure single H1 per page across all templates. - KEYBOARD NAVIGATION: Implement focus trapping for modals, visible focus indicators (2px outline meeting 3:1 contrast), and tab order logic so users can navigate portfolio/forms/menus without a mouse. - COLOR CONTRAST: Audit all text/button/link combinations with Contrast Checker. Fix ratios below 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. This includes hover states and text overlays on images. - SCREEN READER TESTING: Test with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (Mac/iOS) to ensure form labels, error messages, and dynamic content updates are announced correctly via aria-live regions. - MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY: Verify touch targets are minimum 44x44px and test TalkBack/VoiceOver gestures on actual devices (not just emulators). - COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION: Deliver Lighthouse (95+ score), WAVE (zero critical errors), and axe reports plus an Accessibility Statement page with your audit date and feedback form. I've completed 8 WCAG 2.1 AA audits for government-funded projects including a healthcare portal that passed Greek Ministry inspection. I don't take shortcuts - if your PDFs aren't tagged, I'll flag them separately because remediation requires Adobe Acrobat Pro and is billed per document. Let's schedule a 15-minute call to review your portfolio code and video player setup before I finalize the timeline.

Hi, WCAG compliance isn’t a visual cleanup task — it’s about removing the hidden barriers in structure, interaction, and semantics that prevent real users from navigating your WordPress site with assistive technologies. The fact that this is an EU-funded ESPA 2021–2027 project means audit traceability matters as much as the fixes themselves, especially across keyboard navigation, ARIA usage, and portfolio interaction patterns where most WordPress builds fail accessibility standards. I can audit and refactor your existing WordPress implementation to WCAG 2.1 AA, correcting semantic structure, ARIA roles, focus management, contrast issues, form accessibility, and interactive components like portfolio and media elements, while validating results through Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe reports. You’ll also receive a full documentation package outlining every fix applied plus an accessibility statement page aligned with compliance requirements for public-sector reporting. Before starting the audit, are your portfolio items and video components built with a specific WordPress builder (Elementor, WPBakery, or custom theme), since that will determine how deep the structural refactoring needs to go? Best regards, Fizza Nadeem K

Hi, just wrapped up a WCAG 2.1 AA audit and fix project for a US-based nonprofit WordPress site last month. Found 47 violations across contrast ratios, missing ARIA labels, keyboard navigation gaps, and screen reader issues, got them to full compliance in about a week. For yours I'd run axe DevTools and manual keyboard testing first to document every failure, then work through the fixes: contrast corrections in CSS, ARIA roles and landmarks, focus indicators, skip links, alt text, and form labels. I'll send you a full audit report before touching any code so you know exactly what's broken and what the fix costs. Audit done in 2 days, fixes in 5. Is your site using any accessibility plugins already like WP Accessibility or UserWay, or are we starting clean? Regards, Imtiaz, SecureTechs

Hi, This is Jorge from IT GLOBAL SOLUTION LLC in FL, United States. I’ve delivered WordPress accessibility audits and remediation similar to what you’re building, with WCAG 2.1 AA fixes focused on semantic structure, keyboard/focus behavior, forms, and media. Your EU compliance deliverable concept is clear and scalable. My process is to audit your live WordPress theme/plugins templates using axe DevTools, WAVE, and Lighthouse, then map each finding to WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria and prioritize critical issues. I implement fixes directly in the theme (proper heading hierarchy with a single H1 per page, correct landmarks like nav/main/footer, ARIA where truly needed). I verify keyboard-only navigation and visible focus indicators, ensuring key paths work without a mouse for menus, portfolio cards, buttons, and contact forms. I review images for correct alt text and decorative marking, repair logo accessibility, and remediate forms by correcting labels, error messaging, and validation patterns for screen readers (including aria-live when appropriate). I also audit link text like “Click here/Read more” and update it to be meaningful. For videos, I validate player markup/controls for keyboard and screen reader compatibility and confirm captions/transcripts. For PDFs, I audit linked/download PDFs and either remediate embedded issues or quote PDF remediation separately if needed.
