Seeking a Bookkeeper located in Puerto Rico and expert in PR tax law Part-Time Remote Bookkeeper for Family and Multiple Businesses in San Juan, Puerto Rico Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced part-time remote bookkeeper with a degree in accounting to join our team and provide financial management services to a family and its multiple businesses in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Puerto Rico tax law, bookkeeping, accounting principles, payroll, and financial software, with excellent organizational and communication skills in English and Spanish. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the family’s businesses, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger Process and reconcile financial transactions, including bank statements, credit card statements, and loan payments Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including preparation of tax returns and payment of taxes Manage and reconcile multiple bank accounts, credit card accounts, and loan accounts Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements Collaborate with the family’s financial advisor and other professionals to ensure seamless financial management Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive financial information Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Minimum 3 years of experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in a high net worth family or similar environment Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software Strong understanding of Puerto Rican tax laws and regulations Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with high net worth families or individuals Familiarity with Puerto Rico’s specific accounting and tax requirements for businesses and individuals Certification as a Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Experience with cloud-based accounting software and collaboration tools Work Arrangements: Part-time remote work arrangement (20-25 hours per week) with occasional office visits Flexible scheduling to accommodate the family’s needs and your work style Regular virtual check-ins with the family’s financial advisor and other team members Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience Opportunities for professional growth and development If you are a detail-oriented and organized bookkeeper with a passion for working with families and businesses, please submit your application, including your resume and a cover letter, to us.
