Most short-form comedy edits are cut exactly on the beat. That's why so many of them feel mechanical punchlines land on the music hit instead of three frames before it, and the joke dies. The fix is counterintuitive: cut the punchline slightly early, let the beat land in the silence after it. That gap is where funny actually lives, and almost nobody edits for it because their NLE defaults to snapping to the grid. The same principle runs through everything else you listed. Text overlays that appear before the punchline spoil it; text that lands with the punchline sells it. Sound effect punches on the setup steal attention from the payoff; the same effect on the punchline doubles it. Memes and reaction inserts only work when they arrive a beat late, not a beat early. At ₹400–750/hr for a batch like this, most editors will cut to the music. Cutting against it deliberately, frame by frame is what makes scroll-stopping content instead of content that looks right and feels flat. What's the tone across the batch sketch, reaction, or edits of existing clips? That decides where the jokes actually sit in each cut.
