For every individual, I need any publicly available material—articles, formal speeches, and/or social-media posts—gathered in both the original language and in English whenever a bilingual version exists. Here’s what success looks like: • A clearly structured spreadsheet (or Airtable if you prefer) that logs for each item: politician’s name, title of the piece, type (article / speech / post), original publication date, source link, and language. • Downloaded or screen-captured copies of the originals stored in an organised folder structure, with filenames that match the spreadsheet entries. • Where possible, provide working hyperlinks that allow me to verify every source quickly. • If you locate only a native-language version, note that explicitly; if an authorised English translation exists, include it alongside the original. The primary focus is on illicit trade (the black market), specifically in tobacco and e-cigarettes. For MEPs and Commissioners, finding material will be straightforward as they are public figures. However, for bureaucrats who are often "digital ghosts" under EU rules, researchers will need to locate material from before their EU tenure or alternative sources like social media. Starting points include: 1. EU Policy platforms: Euractiv, The Parliament Magazine (for MEPs), and Politico Pro. 2. Academia: Journal of Illicit Economies and Development (JIED) and European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research. 3. Institutional/Think Tank Publishers: European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), OECD & EUIPO Joint Reports, and RUSI (Royal United Services Institute).
