I’m ready to move from concept to manufacturing for a 4-layer Industrial IoT controller built around an STM32. The heart of the project is a rock-solid power front end, so please concentrate on the 12 V DC input stage with reverse-polarity blocking and a clearly defined over-voltage cutoff level (I’ll share the exact maximum voltage the moment we start). Core features to fold into the schematic and layout • 12 V → 5 V / 3.3 V regulation, tight ripple control • CAN 2.0 B and RS-485 transceivers on isolated ports • USB-C device/programming connector • On-board Wi-Fi/BLE module • Relay outputs plus digital & analog sensor inputs • SWD/JTAG programming header and status LEDs Stack-up is fixed to four layers (signal / solid GND / power + signal / signal). Please apply good component placement, short return paths, proper stitching vias, and thermal relief where needed; I will review your DRC/ERC reports to confirm everything checks out. Tools: Altium Designer is preferred, though KiCad 7 is acceptable if that’s where you’re fastest. Deliverables (manufacturing-ready) 1. Complete annotated schematic 2. PCB layout with 3-D model 3. BOM with manufacturer part numbers 4. Gerber, NC Drill, and Pick-and-Place files 5. Assembly and fabrication notes, including the over-voltage threshold you designed for I’ll sign off once the design boots on a bench simulation and the documentation passes my CM’s pre-production review. Let’s build a board that survives the toughest field wiring mistakes and keeps the rest of the system safe.

I have completed similar STM32-based industrial controller and 4-layer PCB projects, including protected power inputs, CAN/RS-485 interfaces, mixed-signal circuitry and manufacturing-ready Altium layouts. I can develop your controller with particular focus on making the 12 V front end robust against field wiring mistakes. Proposed Approach I’ll design the 12 V input stage with reverse-polarity protection, defined over-voltage cutoff, surge/transient protection and efficient 5 V/3.3 V regulation. Once you provide the maximum input voltage, I’ll select and document the appropriate protection threshold. The 4-layer stack-up will follow your specified Signal / Solid GND / Power + Signal / Signal structure, with controlled return paths, stitching vias, thermal management and careful separation of noisy power/relay sections from sensitive analog and RF circuitry. Isolated CAN and RS-485 interfaces, USB-C, Wi-Fi/BLE, sensor I/O and SWD/JTAG will be fully coordinated. Deliverables Annotated STM32 schematic Complete 4-layer Altium PCB layout 3D PCB model BOM with manufacturer part numbers Gerber and NC Drill files Pick-and-Place/CPL files Assembly/fabrication notes ERC/DRC reports Power-protection threshold documentation

Handling the rock-solid power front end for your 12 V DC input stage is critical, so I will focus on robust reverse-polarity blocking and a precise over-voltage cutoff as soon as you share that maximum voltage. I will build the 4-layer Industrial IoT controller using KiCad, completing the schematic and PCB layout for your STM32 device, also incorporating tight ripple control on the 12 V to 5 V / 3.3 V regulation. The CAN 2.0 B and RS-485 transceivers will be on isolated ports, also adding the USB-C device connector and Wi-Fi/BLE module. What are the impedance requirements for the CAN and RS-485 lines? Provide the exact maximum voltage for the over-voltage cutoff. I have a 5.0 rating across 10 reviews on here, and Preferred Freelancer status.

Hi, I reviewed your requirements carefully. This is a good fit for the type of industrial controller projects we work with. We can cover the complete hardware design package from schematic and 4-layer PCB layout through BOM, Gerber, NC Drill and Pick-and-Place files, with the design prepared for manufacturing. Since your goal is to move into manufacturing, we can also support the PCB/PCBA prototype and small-batch production stage in China if needed after the design is approved. Before starting, I would just like to confirm the exact over-voltage cutoff requirement and what you mean by “boots on a bench simulation,” so the hardware scope is clearly defined. I can work in Altium or KiCad depending on your preference.
