I'm currently facing a problem with my React.js application integrated with AWS Cognito via Lambda. The issue appears to be with the response data. Specifically, I'm receiving unexpected additional user attributes. I have a Lambda function configured as a Custom Auth trigger for AWS Cognito. The function handles the authentication flow, including issuing challenges based on user attributes and session details. However, I’m encountering the following error when the Lambda executes: Error: InvalidLambdaResponseException: Unrecognizable lambda output Console logs from the InitiateAuthCommand process are available. I have not attempted any debugging steps yet. I would like to start by checking the Lambda logs for any irregularities. Please enable AWS CloudWatch for detailed log monitoring.

Hi there! I noticed you're facing an issue with your React.js application integrated with AWS Cognito via Lambda, specifically with unexpected user attributes in the response data. Before diving into the solution, I have a few questions: 1. Have you checked the Lambda logs in AWS CloudWatch to identify any specific issues with the response format? 2. Is the additional user data being added in the Lambda function, or does it seem to be coming from AWS Cognito itself? I have 5+ years of experience in React.js development and AWS integrations, including working with AWS Cognito, Lambda, and troubleshooting authentication-related issues. I’ve helped resolve similar problems before, ensuring seamless integration and proper data handling between the front-end and back-end. Feel free to check out my profile and portfolio here: https://www.freelancer.com/u/neerajdhameliya With my expertise, I can help you identify the source of the `InvalidLambdaResponseException` error and fix the issue related to your Lambda function’s output. I’ll also ensure the response data is structured properly for your React.js app to handle without issues. Looking forward to your response and excited to help! Best regards, Niral

Hello, I understand you're encountering an issue with your React.js application when integrated with AWS Cognito, specifically receiving unexpected additional user attributes via Lambda. This can often stem from discrepancies in how the Lambda function is returning data, potentially causing the InvalidLambdaResponseException. My approach would be to start by enabling AWS CloudWatch as you've suggested, to closely monitor and analyze the Lambda logs. This will help us identify any irregularities in the Lambda execution and make necessary adjustments to the function's response format to align with AWS Cognito's expectations. Could you clarify if the unexpected attributes are consistent across all users, or do they vary? Additionally, have you made any recent changes to either the Lambda function or the Cognito setup that could have triggered this issue? Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Muhammad Awais
