I have misplaced the only keystore file used to sign my Android app, so I can no longer push updates to Google Play. Because the file is lost, I need to go through Google’s key reset process (formerly “key upgrade”) and then re-sign and publish the new build. I have not yet opened a proper support ticket with Google Play Console, so I also need guidance on drafting the request and supplying the required metadata. You’ll take me from start to finish: • Draft and submit the key reset request inside Play Console, including any additional information Google typically asks for (package name, SHA-1, etc.). • Liaise with Google support if follow-up emails are needed until the new upload key is issued. • Generate a fresh keystore, set it up in Android Studio (or keytool), and show me how to store it safely. • Re-sign the current APK/AAB with the new key and walk me through uploading it so the update goes live without user disruption. Acceptance criteria: Google confirms the reset, the new key is active in Play Console, and an updated build signed with that key is successfully published. Familiarity with Play Console, keytool, Android Studio, and Google’s signing policies is essential. Fast turnaround appreciated.
