Job Description:
I require a Android tablet (7") be built that will play recorded messages to bus passengers onboard of train replacement buses.
- This app does not have any backend connectivity.
- It is to be built within 72 hours
- All .wav/.mp3 files will be provided
- The audio to be played through the device's headphone port.
- The buttons and text should be as large as possible so that they're easily visible and usable while on the move
- The app should keep the device awake while the app is open
INFO ABOUT THE IMAGE ATTACHED:
The app is pretty straightforward.
1. The driver will select the train route they are replacing.
2. They will select the predefined list of stations that they will stop at (hard coded)
3. They select which direction they are headed (Up or down)
4. They hit 'Go'
5. At their first station, they will hit 'Pre-departure message' which will play a conjoined list of pre-recorded messages, such as
<This is a service to><final stop><stopping at><station1><station2><station3><then terminating at><station4><at><station4><changeToConnectingTrain>
6. "Our Next Station will be" button will play <OurNextStationIs> [what ever the next stop is] <followedBy><station2><station3><then terminating at>
7. "Now Arriving" button will play <NowArrivingAt>[what ever the next stop is]
8. "PREV STATION" and "NEXT STATION" allows the driver to scroll back and forth between stations in the predefined pattern
9. "STOP ANNOUCEMENT" immediately stops any playback
10 "Terminating - Change to train" plays <ServiceTerminatesHere>
11. Day/Night toggle - dark/day mode
The task is to
i. Build this android app. This will be an in-house app and so it will not be published on the app store.
ii. Use the attached image as a guide for the UI. It should be purpose-built, meaning, it's for bus drivers on the move, buttons should be of a suitable size
iii. Hard code one route & pattern into the app
iv. Attribute the audio files accordingly so that the announcements play correctly
