I need a developer who already understands how Epic handles the X12 278 prior-authorization workflow and can turn that knowledge into a working software component. The goal is to accept, transform, and submit 278 requests directly from our Epic instance, then parse and surface the corresponding responses for our care-management team without disrupting existing clinical workflows. You will be writing production-ready code, not a proof-of-concept, so familiarity with Epic Bridges, Chronicles, and Interconnect—as well as the X12 standard itself—is essential. Epic test environments and credentials are ready; you will have access to our sandbox and an internal SME for clarifications. Deliverables will be: • A deployable 278 interface (preferably in Cloverleaf, Mirth, or an Epic-approved alternative) • Configuration scripts or installation guide for our Dev, Test, and Prod environments • Unit and integration tests that can run in an automated pipeline • Brief technical documentation that shows message mapping, error handling, and rollback strategy Additionally: They use Tapestry for UM, while enrollment and claims are still processed through IDX. They already have an outbound 278 from Epic to IDX but now need to establish new outbound 278 integrations to six delegated health plans for the CMS-0057 requirement. The engagement is primarily to take those six payer integrations through build/configuration, payer-specific requirements and companion guides, testing, defect resolution, and production readiness. They're targeting completion around mid-November.

Hello, I can build a production-ready Epic 278 prior-authorization interface that accepts, transforms, submits, and parses X12 transactions while preserving your existing clinical workflows. I’ll focus on reliable interoperability across Epic Bridges, Chronicles, and Interconnect, with an implementation suited to Cloverleaf, Mirth, or another Epic-approved integration layer. The solution will include environment-specific configuration for Dev, Test, and Prod; automated unit and integration tests; robust validation and error handling; and a rollback strategy designed to prevent data loss. I’ll also provide concise Technical Documentation covering message mapping, workflow behavior, operational recovery, and deployment prerequisites. Using your sandbox and internal SME access, I can validate the complete request/response cycle in Epic’s Test environment and prepare the component for peer review. Which Epic endpoint and 278 implementation guide should govern routing, acknowledgments, and response-status mapping in the Test environment? I’m ready to review your current Epic interface architecture, 278 companion-guide requirements, and preferred integration engine before implementation begins. Regards, Muhammad Awais

Hi, This is Elias from Miami. I’ve checked the project carefully, and I understand you already have the Epic → IDX 278 flow, while the new requirement is to build and take six delegated health-plan 278 integrations through payer-specific mapping, testing, defect resolution, and production readiness for CMS-0057. Q1: For the six delegated plans, do you already have their 278 companion guides and connectivity requirements, or should I handle the payer-specific mapping/validation differences as part of the build? Q2: Since Tapestry handles UM while IDX handles enrollment/claims, should the new outbound 278s originate from the existing Epic/Tapestry workflow and route independently to each payer, while keeping the current Epic → IDX interface unchanged? Q3: What response transactions are currently expected from these payers (277/278 response or payer-specific formats), and where does your care-management team need the response/status surfaced inside Epic? I’ll build the interfaces with automated unit/integration tests, logging and retry handling, clear rollback procedures, and deployment documentation. I’m also comfortable working with an internal SME through payer-specific testing and defect cycles to reach production readiness around your mid-November target. Regards.

Hello!, I am a US-based full stack developer and healthcare integration engineer with around 10 years of experience building production EDI/API interfaces, clinical workflow integrations, data pipelines, and payer automation. I read your project carefully and understand the real scope: taking six outbound X12 278 prior-auth integrations from Epic/Tapestry through companion-guide mapping, build/configuration, payer testing, defect resolution, and production readiness without disrupting the current Epic-to-IDX workflow. I’m comfortable with Epic Bridges/Interconnect patterns, X12 278 mapping, payer-specific edits, acknowledgments, error handling, sandbox validation, and Dev/Test/Prod docs. I’d first review the existing Epic-IDX 278, then create a reusable mapping/config approach so the six plans are not treated as unrelated one-offs. Relevant work includes prior-auth EDI integrations, Mirth/Cloverleaf-style HL7/EDI routing, companion-guide mapping, claims/enrollment testing, and defect tracking. Could you please clarify the following questions to help me better understand the project? 1. Which integration engine is preferred: Cloverleaf, Mirth, Bridges-only, or another approved tool? 2. Do all plans already have final 278 companion guides and test endpoints? 3. Should the new flow reuse the IDX 278 mapping, or be built as a separate payer-specific layer? Regards, James Zappi

Epic 278 Integration Build: I’ll implement a production-grade 278 prior-authorization interface that can accept, transform, and submit X12 278 messages from your Epic instance, then reliably parse and surface corresponding responses for your care-management team. Approach focuses on not disrupting existing clinical workflows: robust message mapping (X12 fields to Epic-compatible structures), deterministic handling of acknowledgements/errors, and safe rollback. I’ll deliver an Epic-friendly deployable interface (e.g., Cloverleaf/Mirth/Epic-approved alternative), plus configuration/install scripts for Dev/Test/Prod environments. To ensure this is shippable code, I’ll include unit and integration tests designed for an automated pipeline, and concise technical documentation covering mapping, error handling, and rollback strategy. The result will complete successful end-to-end 278 submit/response cycles in Test with no data loss and ready for peer review.

==== Hi - Truong here ==== "EPIC X12 278 PRIOR AUTHORIZATION INTERFACE" — you need a production-ready workflow that sends, receives and handles authorization transactions safely. I’d build the interface around clear message mapping, validation, error handling and test coverage so it works reliably with Epic workflows. The important part is handling rejected or delayed responses without losing transaction data or interrupting care teams. Before development, I’d confirm your current Epic Bridges/Interconnect setup and whether you prefer Cloverleaf, Mirth, or another approved integration layer. Looking forward to work with you.

The safest approach is to preserve the existing Epic-to-IDX 278 flow and use it as the baseline for a common outbound authorization model, then isolate each delegated payer’s companion-guide differences in its own mapping/configuration layer. I would begin by tracing the current Tapestry authorization workflow through Bridges/Interconnect and the existing 278, then define the canonical request/response mapping. Each of the six payer integrations would cover payer-specific envelope/routing rules, situational fields, acknowledgments, response statuses, error handling and reprocessing without duplicating the core logic unnecessarily. Testing would use repeatable X12 fixtures and include request generation, payer response parsing, negative/error cases and regression against the existing workflow before Dev/Test/Prod promotion. Rate: $25/hour. Estimated effort: 240 hours over 9 weeks. I can start immediately after award once the Epic sandbox, current 278 configuration and payer companion guides are available.

Hello. The hardest part of this Epic 278 Integration Build is correctly handling the X12 278 prior-authorization workflow within Epic’s complex ecosystem—Bridges, Chronicles, and Interconnect—while ensuring zero disruption to clinical workflows. I will: 1. Analyze your Epic sandbox environment and confirm access to Bridges, Chronicles, and Interconnect APIs. 2. Develop the 278 interface using Mirth Connect (preferred for HL7/X12 transformations) or Cloverleaf if you prefer, focusing on accurate message mapping and transformation. 3. Implement robust error handling, rollback strategies, and automated unit/integration tests for pipeline deployment. 4. Deliver configuration scripts and concise technical documentation covering message flow, error cases, and deployment steps. I recently completed a similar project integrating X12 278 transactions for a healthcare client using Mirth, ensuring seamless submission and response parsing without workflow impact. That project passed peer review and automated testing in production. Please provide repo or sandbox access to start the initial environment assessment. Best,
