Children's Book Illustrator Needed

Title: Children’s Book Illustrator Needed – Consistent Characters & Vibrant, Modern Style Description: I am seeking a talented children’s book illustrator to create full-page, full-color illustrations for my upcoming book, Happy Birthday, JP – JP Learns How to Text. The book is 8.5" x 8.5", approximately [insert final number of pages, e.g., 20–24] illustrated pages plus a front and back cover. The story features a recurring main character (JP), his family, and a few additional supporting characters. Illustrations must be consistent in style and character appearance throughout the book. Story Theme: A heartwarming, fun, and inclusive children’s book celebrating family moments and learning new skills, with a focus on neurodiversity awareness and representation. Scope of Work: Create original illustrations based on my scene descriptions and text (one scene per page). Maintain consistent character design for JP, his family, and supporting characters. Use bright, modern colors and expressive visuals — not outdated or overly cartoonish. Deliver print-ready, high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) suitable for Amazon KDP. Include front and back cover designs matching the book’s theme. Provide editable layered files (PSD, AI, or Procreate) and final flattened files (JPEG/PNG). Milestone Payment Structure: Character concept sketches approved – 15% First 5 pages completed & approved – 25% Full interior illustrations completed – 35% Covers + final print-ready files delivered – 25% Requirements: Proven experience illustrating children’s books (portfolio required). Ability to create expressive, relatable characters. Understanding of KDP formatting requirements. Willingness to collaborate and make reasonable revisions. Rights & Ownership: All illustrations created for this project must be 100% original and will be subject to Freelancer.com’s Intellectual Property (IP) Transfer Agreement. Upon final payment, full commercial rights to all artwork, including characters, backgrounds, and cover designs, will be transferred to me. The illustrator may not reuse, resell, or repurpose any part of the work for any other project. An NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) must also be signed before work begins to protect the confidentiality of my manuscript, characters, and concepts.
