I need to setup a simple query that takes a form variable, queryies a SQL server 7.0 database. The query will search a notepad text file located on the harddrive. In the database field named item_description, the name of the file is found. I will create the database on the server, but MAY need some assistance in setting up the fulltext searching on SQL server 7.0.
Database table - the database will have more than 3 columns, but only thse 3 pertain to this script.
ITEM_ID (primary ID) autonumber
ITEM_DESCRIPTION (notepad file name)
ITEM_TITLE
The database will be setup and referenced as a DSN. I need the form variable queried against the textfiles referenced in the database and other fields displayed on a results page.
Then below the results from the database query, I would like a to use a SSI to include the searched notepad file contents (ITEM DESCRIPTION). This will need to be built with speed in mind, as there will be nearly 10,000 records with notepad files and other corresponding columns of data.
I anticipate 2 ASP pages with scripting.
Search form page ([login to view URL])
Search from results ([login to view URL])
Please include some time to assist me in setting up full text searching.
