We are looking for a Freelancer to update our existing website.
1] The existing website has been developed using ASP and comprises of a MySQL backend with an underlying bespoke Content Management System (CMS) used to create and edit the content for the majority of the website.
2] The website comprises of twelve sections: Home, News, Products, Services, Special Offers, Orders, Downloads, Legal, Contact Us, Support, Links, Search together with the CMS.
3] The goal of the project is to port the website from ASP to ASP.NET and retain the underlying website design but introduce a series of cosmetic changes to the website resulting in a more feature rich website.
4] In addition the project is expected to fix website errors ensuring webpages successfully display without errors across a selection of leading web browsers.
5] In addition it will be necessary to introduce a selection of web 2.0 features across the website creating a more aesthetic and visually rich and interactive website.
6] We will develop and enter via the CMS details of the graphical and textural content to be displayed and have done this for all CMS controlled webpages within the website to date.
7] There are a series of cosmetic changes, which at present cannot be corrected through CMS, which are expected to be corrected during this project.
8] Update existing basic WYSIWYG CMS to a better CMS supporting more advanced WYSIWYG functionality for website contents.
9] Implement Paypal payment gateway for payment of electronic products within the website and integrate with CMS and MySQL database.
10] Update CMS to enable more efficient product catalogue update and orders management.
11] The existing CMS currently enables manual creation/update of product catalogues and product details specification, but does not currently support allocation of discount vouchers for specific products, customers and shopping episodes. These are expected to be incorporated within the updated CMS, MySQL database and wider website.
12] As part of the update of the CMS, code will need to be developed to enable the bulk upload through MySQL of multiple new products to the product catalogues as well as the bulk update of product details of existing product items.
13] The updated CMS and wider website is expected to support customer download of electronic products upon successful placement of an order and receipt of payment confirmation from the payment gateway.
14] Customers will promptly receive an order confirmation email comprising order details, payment gateway payment summary details and time restricted URLs for each digital product ordered where the customer can download the ordered digital products together with an electronic copy of his/her receipt.
15] The updated CMS and MySQL database will also need to enable existing orders to be tracked.
16] The CMS and MySQL database will need to be updated to reflect this functionality.
17] A variety of security features are to be built into the website to prevent website scraping, scripting attacks and unauthorised access.
18] A detailed working knowledge of ASP, ASP.NET, eCommerce, HTML, MySQL, CMS and Web 2.0 are essential project requirements.
