I have obtained an ASP component that tracks visitor information on a website. I am concerned that there may be software codes in the component that may link back to the programmer’s server. Although I trust the origins of this software, from a RISK MANAGEMENT perspective it is imperative that someone go through the code to verify that there are no references back to the programmer’s server or anything that may not be in my or my clients’ best interest.
There are in total about 70 ASP, XML and HTML files. You will go through each line of code in all these files to make sure that there are no programming references to any external server. You will use your knowledge in ASP, Web Programming, Business and pure common sense to go about this task. It’s time to play detective!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
