I have a site that is using a portal called FullXML. It is a combination of XML and ASP. The portal contains an account creation component where you can be a "member" of the site. It currently collects login name, password and email. I have an ASP based classified ad program embedded in the site that you must register in before placing classified ads. The classified ad program stores the registration data in an access database. Here is my problem. I would like the current site registration form to collect all the same data (fields) that the classified registration collects with a couple of exceptions. I would like the phone numbers to be optional for site registration. I would like this data to be stored in the access database just like the classified registration info is now. So in other words, when you register to be a member of the site, you are now also registered for the classified ad section and your login and password will work with both. Should be a pretty simple task for someone comfortable with XML and ASP. Now the only other requirement I have is that the modifications be made in such a way that I can easily recognize the new areas of code and be able to drop the modifications into udated versions of the portal. So I don't have to have this redone every time the portal is updated. In other words, I don't want this modification to interfere with how the portal currently works. I'm just trying to capture additional information and have it stored. I will make changes to the pages to explain to site visitors why I am gathering the registration info. Thanks! And I am kinda in a tight timeframe, I need to get this done as soon as possible.
