I have a simple database that tracks customers' orders.
Each customer has a customer profile with id, name, join date, email etc.
Each customer has multiple orders, each order has multiple items.
In each item, there is a Start and End date. That's part of the item lines fields.
I have that working in plain MDB forms, but I need to upgrade this to do more functionality:
1. I need to be able to send an email to clients in an HTML formatted email that includes the order details. The purpose, is to send the client a "Request for payment for an order".
Using local forms, I have not found a way to create tables (actual table lines) and HTML rich-text formatting that will automatically send an email out from my local machine.
In ASP there should not be any problem doing this.
The email must use SMTP - it must have the proper fields to send the email via a mail server (with the server name, user and password provided as the the mail account it needs to be sent out from is on a remote server).
2. I need to be able to PRINT from the ASP application, an Envelope with the customer's address using a local printer.
The first step was to send the customer a request for funds.
Once the customer pays, we currently do manual hand written invoices and reciepts.
I would like to issue those, in a rich text format via the system, so that I don't have to do any hand written activity.
4. Newsletter to clients.
I would like to send out a newsletter to my clients in an HTML rich text format. It should allow me to Email all clients that are marked with "Yes" for accepting Newsletter.
5. Duplicate previous order. Each order usually repeat previous period. At least with the order items. The period dates are different, but the same items/services are ordered again. I need a "Create a New Order populated with Duplicate Items".
If I'll need to erase or change and item, that's not a problem, but it will save me the time to copy and paste from previous month.
That's my need for now.
