Context: This is running lighting for a fraternity house party and future house events, not a professional install. Priority is that it works reliably and is quick to set up, not that it's built a specific way. Location requirement: Must be based in or able to travel to the Chicago area for at least one in-person setup/testing session against the actual rig before it's used at an event. Remote-only will not be considered. What I have (hardware already ordered/owned, no build work needed): 25x ENDYSHOW LED Pixel Light Bars (60W, 90 RGB LEDs each = 30 individually addressable zones per bar, DMX512 with selectable 3/5/8/90 channel modes) — arranged as 5 ceiling lines, 5 bars daisy-chained per line (150 zones per line, 30 zones x 5 bars) Each bar will run in 90-channel mode (30 zones x 3ch RGB) so effects can address every zone individually 1x Pknight CR061S Art-Net node (8 DMX universes out) — each of the 5 ceiling lines patched to its own universe (450 of 512 channels used per universe, 5 of 8 universes used, 3 spare) DMX cabling, terminators, PowerCon power chain, feed cords and power strips already sized and ordered Ethernet adapter + cable to connect a laptop to the Art-Net node A laptop that will run the control software (Windows or macOS — spec which you have) What I need built: Software that: Captures live audio from a mic or line-in (DJ deck) Performs real-time beat/onset detection with end-to-end latency ≤120ms from kick drum to visible light response Outputs Art-Net (ArtDMX) over UDP to the Pknight node's IP, correctly mapped to the 5 universes (one per ceiling line) and the DMX start address of each of the 5 bars within a line (90 channels per bar — addressing provided once patched) Drives at least 3 distinct beat-synced modes across all 5 lines simultaneously (e.g. full-line pulse on kick, ripple/chase across the 150 zones in a line, strobe on hard transients) — switchable live via keypress or a simple UI, no restart needed Runs unattended once launched — auto-detects the audio input and starts reacting, no per-song calibration Ships with a plain-English setup guide (assume no prior technical experience) covering: installing/launching the software, selecting the audio device, entering the node's IP and each bar's DMX address, and troubleshooting Stack/language: Your call entirely. Custom code (any language), or an existing audio-reactive lighting platform (e.g. TouchDesigner, Resolume Arena, QLC+, or similar) that outputs Art-Net — whatever you can deliver most reliably. State what you're proposing and why in your quote. Deliverables: Working software (source code if custom-built, or project/patch file plus licence/purchase info if built on existing software) Setup guide as above In-person setup/testing session in Chicago 10–15 minute screen-recorded demo showing it running against real music with visible beat-lock Nice to have: Basic mode-switching/brightness control from a phone on the same Wi-Fi A config file so DMX addressing can be edited without touching the core setup

The tricky part here is not the Art-Net packets, it is holding kick-to-light under 120ms while 5 universes of 450 channels each go out every frame. I would build it in Python with a small realtime audio thread doing onset detection on a short hop size, feeding a fixed 40fps sender that writes ArtDMX per universe with the zone map. Modes (line pulse, ripple across the 150 zones, transient strobe) become pure functions of beat phase and energy, so switching live is just a keypress, no restart. Addressing and node IP live in a JSON config, not in code. I have built realtime signal-to-output pipelines before, including computer vision loops where dropped frames were the whole problem, and the discipline is the same. Can you test against the actual Pknight node during development, or does everything have to be validated blind before party night?

Hi, I am a software engineer with over 16 years of experience building reliable real-time control, audio-processing, networking, and embedded systems solutions. I can deliver a self-contained Windows application that captures mic or DJ line-in audio, detects beats and transients with low latency, and sends correctly mapped ArtDMX packets to all five universes simultaneously. I propose a custom solution because it avoids recurring platform licences and can be tailored precisely to your 30-zone bars. It will include kick pulses, line ripples/chases, and hard-transient strobes, with live mode and brightness controls, editable addressing/configuration, automatic startup behavior, and safeguards against unsafe sustained strobing. I can also add a simple phone-accessible control page on the local network. I will test latency and universe mapping, provide the complete source and packaged application, write a beginner-friendly setup/troubleshooting guide, and record the requested 10–15 minute demonstration using real music with visible beat-lock. Please confirm the laptop OS, preferred audio source, and whether the node uses unicast or broadcast Art-Net; bar addresses can follow once patched. Please contact me to discuss details.

Hello, I hope you're doing well. I can build a Windows controller in C# using NAudio for beat detection and Art-Net UDP output, with editable JSON addressing. I'd use a low-latency onset pipeline and separate mode engine, so keypress switching won't interrupt output. The five universes can run together. Could we discuss the Pknight mapping and preferred laptop OS before I lock the design? Thank you, JennyCreation

Hi, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer with experience building real-time audio processing systems and hardware control software, including live beat detection and low-latency audio-to-visual synchronization. I understand your needs: software that listens to a DJ deck, detects kicks in real time, and drives 150 individually addressable zones across 5 ceiling lines through Art-Net—all within sub-120ms latency, running unattended. I'd build this in C# with a custom Windows/macOS application. C# provides direct access to low-latency audio APIs (WASAPI/CoreAudio), reliable beat detection using onset detection algorithms, and deterministic UDP Art-Net output. The approach: First, I'd build the audio capture and beat detection pipeline targeting sub-100ms latency. Then implement Art-Net packet generation correctly mapped to your 5 universes and DMX addresses. Next, three effect modes (line pulse, ripple chase, strobe on transients) switchable live via keyboard. Finally, a minimal config UI for audio device selection, node IP entry, and DMX addressing. For beat detection, I'd use spectral onset detection focused on kick frequencies with adaptive thresholding—no per-song tuning needed. One risk is audio device variability. I'd build in auto-detection, fallback logic, and a troubleshooting guide. You'll receive the compiled application, full source code, setup guide, and demo video showing real-time beat response. I'm ready to start immediately. Let's discuss the details. Than

Hi, there. "AUDIO-REACTIVE DMX/ART-NET LIGHTING CONTROLLER" - you need reliable beat-synced lighting software that can drive all 5 DMX universes in real time and be simple enough to launch before a house party. I’d use C# with NAudio for low-latency audio capture and beat/onset detection, with a dedicated Art-Net UDP output layer mapped to the five universes and configurable bar addresses. I’d keep the audio analysis, lighting modes, and DMX mapping separate so the three effects can switch instantly without restarting. A config file would hold the node IP, universe mapping, addresses, brightness, and audio-device settings. I’d also test the complete pipeline against the actual rig in Chicago, measuring kick-to-light latency and checking reconnect behavior, signal loss, and unattended operation before the event. The setup guide and screen demo would cover the exact workflow for launching and configuring it. Can you confirm whether the laptop will run Windows or macOS, and can the actual Pknight node and one complete ceiling line be available for the in-person test? Looking forward to working with you.

Built for reliable, low-latency audio-reactive Art-Net lighting with your exact 5-universe / 90-channel-per-bar mapping. I’ll deliver a Windows/macOS software solution that listens to your mic/line-in, performs fast onset/beat tracking (targeting ≤120ms kick-to-light), and outputs Art-Net (ArtDMX) via UDP to your Pknight node at the IP you provide, automatically mapped so each ceiling line drives the correct universe and each bar’s start address in that line. The software will run unattended: on launch it auto-detects the audio input, starts reacting immediately, and maintains steady beat-synced modes without per-song calibration. You’ll get at least three distinct live-switchable modes across all five lines simultaneously (e.g., kick full-line pulse, ripple/chase across zones, and strobe on hard transients), toggled instantly by keypress or a simple on-screen UI. Deliverables included: working software (source code if custom; otherwise patch/project + licensing details), plain-English setup guide (install/launch, audio device selection, node IP entry, DMX address entry for each of 5 bars, and troubleshooting), plus a 10-15 minute screen-recorded demo showing beat-locked response to real music.

I've built real-time audio-reactive lighting systems before—beat detection, DMX output, sub-120ms latency—so this is straightforward for me. I'm proposing a custom Python application using librosa for beat/onset detection, python-artnet for UDP Art-Net output, and PyAudio for live mic/line-in capture, all wrapped in a lightweight Tkinter UI for mode switching and device config. The architecture is: audio thread → onset detection → universe/channel mapper → Art-Net packet builder → fire-and-forget UDP to your Pknight node. I'll handle the 5-universe layout and per-bar DMX addressing through a JSON config file you edit once during setup, then it runs headless. Three modes ship ready: full-line pulse on kick, zone-by-zone ripple, and transient strobe. The latency floor sits around 80–100ms end-to-end because we're doing frame-level detection without blocking. Deliverables: working source code, plain-text setup guide covering device selection and IP entry, and a recorded demo synced to actual music. I can start immediately and have this running within a week. Thanks, Andrii.

I can deliver a robust audio-reactive DMX/Art-Net controller, similar to how I've implemented real-time audio analysis for dynamic visualizers in past projects. My approach prioritizes reliability and rapid setup for your fraternity house events. My solution will leverage a Python-based framework utilizing libraries like `sounddevice` for audio input and `dmx_controller` or `python-artnet` for DMX/Art-Net output. I'll develop algorithms to process audio frequencies and amplitudes, mapping them to lighting parameters (intensity, color, zone control) in real-time. The core logic will be optimized for low latency. To ensure seamless integration, will the existing lighting rig have a dedicated Art-Net node or will it be directly connected via USB-to-DMX? Understanding the exact DMX interface available will help me finalize the setup strategy. I'm available for an in-person consultation to discuss the specific technical requirements and plan the initial setup.

Hi there, this is a great fit for a focused real-time lighting controller rather than an overbuilt system. I’d propose a lightweight custom Node.js or C# application that captures mic/line-in audio, performs fast onset/beat detection, and sends ArtDMX packets over UDP to the Pknight node. I’ll make the five universes configurable, with each line containing five 90-channel bars and editable DMX start addresses in a simple config file. The software will include at least three live-switchable effects: kick-synced full-line pulse, zone ripple/chase, and transient strobe, with brightness control and no restart required when changing modes. I’ll optimize the audio pipeline and packet timing specifically around the ≤120ms response target, then test it against the actual rig and real music. I’ll also provide the plain-English setup guide, screen-recorded demo, source/config files, and the required Chicago in-person testing session. Looking forward to work with you. Thanks

Hello, I’ve reviewed your complete rig and understand the requirement: 25 ENDYSHOW bars in 90-channel mode, arranged as five 450-channel ceiling lines across five Art-Net/DMX universes, with real-time audio-reactive control and ≤120ms target latency. My relevant experience includes real-time software, audio processing, UDP/network communication, Art-Net/DMX concepts, JavaScript/C#/C++, and interactive control systems. For reliability, I’d build around a proven real-time audio/lighting environment rather than over-engineering the party setup. The system would capture mic/line-in audio, perform onset/transient detection, map RGB output across all 150 zones per line, and send ArtDMX packets directly to the Pknight node. I’ll provide at least three live-switchable modes: kick/full-line pulse, directional ripple/chase, and transient strobe, plus master brightness. Node IP, universes and each 90-channel bar address can live in a simple config file so future changes require no code edits. I’ll specifically test latency, sustained Art-Net output and unattended operation against real music. Deliverables include the working project/source, beginner-friendly setup/troubleshooting guide, 10–15 minute demo, and the required in-person rig test. One question: will the final setup normally use DJ line-in audio or an ambient microphone? Best regards, Carlos

I’ll build the audio reactive Art Net controller to capture mic or line in, detect beats in real time, and send ArtDMX UDP output to your Pknight node across the 5 universes with the 90 channel bar mapping. I’d propose a custom Windows app for reliable unattended startup, fast device auto detection, live switching between at least 3 beat synced modes, and a simple config file for node IP and DMX addresses. I’ll include the source code, a plain English setup guide, and a 10 to 15 minute screen recorded demo. If you want the phone based mode and brightness control included, should I build that into the same interface? Best, NexLoom Labs
