* Job Title: Hydraulic Design Engineer (Freelancer / Consultant) * Location: Remote / On-site (as required) * Project Type: Hydraulic system design & component sourcing for compact industrial equipment * Develop compact, efficient, and cost-optimized hydraulic systems involving synchronized mini cylinders, hydraulic motors, smooth motion control, gearbox integration, and braking systems * Design and validate hydraulic circuits including equal-flow dividers ensuring equal pressure to multiple mini cylinders * Design pressure distributor/splitter systems for unequal pressure ratios (e.g., 20–80%, 30–70%) for hydraulic motor synchronization * Implement smooth start/stop control solutions to reduce jerk in cylinders and motors * Develop complete hydraulic schematics as per industry standards * Ensure compatibility with 150–200 bar peak operating pressure systems * Recommend feasible and commercially available components from reputed manufacturers such as Bosch Rexroth, Parker Hannifin, Danfoss, Eaton, and Hydac * Select and specify flow dividers (gear-type, spool-type, priority type) * Select pressure reducing/dividing valves with adjustable ratio capabilities * Specify Minimess hydraulic hoses with minimum OD suitable for 150–200 bar * Recommend proportional hydraulic valves and cost-effective alternatives such as pressure-compensated flow control valves * Select compact 3/8" flange-type hydraulic fittings * Specify hydraulic motor brake systems (spring-applied, hydraulic release, fail-safe) * Recommend valves commonly used in heavy machinery such as JCB equipment * Select hydraulic motors compatible with standard industrial gearboxes * Recommend valves or damping mechanisms to reduce cylinder and motor jerk * Evaluate proportional control versus mechanical/hydraulic alternatives for cost optimization * Suggest integrated manifold blocks or compact hydraulic assemblies to reduce footprint and plumbing complexity * Provide approximate costing for shortlisted components * Prepare preliminary Bill of Materials (BOM) * Suggest alternative suppliers to optimize cost without compromising reliability * Propose modular or integrated hydraulic manifold solutions * Suggest combined valve blocks to reduce hose routing, leak points, installation time, and overall system cost * Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field * Minimum 5+ years of experience in hydraulic system design * Strong knowledge of hydraulic flow and pressure control, cylinder and motor synchronization, 150–250 bar systems, and compact manifold design * Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD and hydraulic simulation software * Familiarity with mobile and construction equipment hydraulic components * Preferred experience in heavy equipment hydraulic systems and integrated manifold blocks * Vendor sourcing experience in India/Asia preferred * Proven experience in hydraulic system cost optimization * Deliver hydraulic circuit schematics * Provide component selection list with technical datasheets * Submit approximate costing sheet * Provide risk assessment and technical recommendations * Deliver final optimized hydraulic architecture proposal * Engagement type: Freelance / Project-based * Milestone-based payment structure * Project duration: 4–8 weeks (extendable based on scope)
